married 5 years

I am so lucky, I can't say it enough, how lucky I am to be married to the most wonderful man.
He is my best friend, my soulmate. 5 years ago today, we were in Carmel, on the beach, exchanging our vows.
We thought for our 5 year anniversary that we would be going to Indonesia. We didn't know that 5 years later we would have 2 amazing children and maybe Indonesia wouldn't be happening just quite yet! :)

We spent our anniversary with our kiddos, going for a hike to our sacred manzanita tree, Malia's first time there since she has been born. Kekoa never ceases to amaze me when we hike, how strong he is, determined to make it to the top of the hill. After our hike, we all worked up an appetite and gobbled down burgers and shakes for lunch.

Newly engaged...check out my bling!

The cutest baby lizard on the trail.

Our beautiful red barked tree...

Malia getting a magic rub.

The water fountain across the street was just too inviting and Kekoa had to get a little wet. He decided though, that he didn't want to go all the way in since he didn't have his bathing suit. His shirt was a little wet and he refused to put it on, so he cruised back to the car shirtless. We will come back to the fountain tomorrow, better prepared, with bathing suits, towels, and a picnic lunch.

Do we dare go in?

Let's do it!

Here we go...

When we got back home, we were all pooped. Kekoa and I snuggled on the couch together and watched part of the Jungle Book. Kekoa had never seen it and I loved watching it with him, really savored having his little body spooned up next to mine. He thought it was super funny and kept giggling during the movie. Malia "played" on the rug (laid on her back, cooing and moving her arms and legs) and Scott was outside, playing in the garden.

Scott and I had a perfect anniversary day...spending it all together as a family.
