Valentine's dinner

We were very brave this evening and went out for Valentine's dinner with the kiddos.  It was a bit crazy but the sushi was yummy.  Malia is hilarious and lasted about 5 minutes in the high chair.  As always, we ordered way too much food (we have a tendency to do this since we never go out to eat).  It was still so so nice to not have to cook tonight.

After dinner, we took a stroll downtown.  We made the mistake of going into the toy store.  I'm pretty sure Kekoa thought we would be leaving with this Dusty airplane.  To avoid the tears, I took a picture of it.  This seems to work great, take a picture of whatever it is that Kekoa wants.

still makes my heart skip a beat

Who are these young kids?  Yes, it is really me and Scott, 15 years ago.  Happy Valentine's Day my love!  I would have never believed anyone if they told me 15 years ago that I would be married to this wonderful guy and that we would have two amazing kiddos together.

my little valentine

Thank you Kekoa for the cutest Valentine card.  I love it so much.  Kekoa told me, "I made it just for you mama"....aaaaah, melt my heart.

chickadee jellybean waffle

Kekoa named his new stuffed animal Chickadee Jellybean Waffle.  This was my view as I drove the kiddos around today.  I was cracking up every time I looked in the rear view mirror!

not this dress!

Malia was not excited at all to be wearing this dress today.  She calmed down after a bit but started to throw another fit when I tried to put the adorable jean jacket on her.  When I pulled out the binky, all crying stopped and she wore the jean jacket for the rest of the day.

Happy Valentine's Day

The kids were over the moon this morning with their Valentine's day gift...they were very surprised.  I still can't believe I smuggled these gigantic animals out of Costco with the kids in the cart!  We hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Boing in the tub

These two have a blast in the tub every night.  Kekoa is super sweet to his sister (99% of the time).  Malia especially loves to help clean up all the toys...so nice!  They love to "boing" in the tub, launching off their hands and feet.  Tonight I just couldn't resist snapping some pictures of their cute little tushes.

"Take a picture of my silly face mama"

Kekoa is so proud that he can reach across the tub and touch with his hands on one end and his toes on the other.  "Look at me mama, look at me"

nunies in the bed

The whole bedtime routine is purely chaotic and pretty funny.  The kids loving running around the house with no clothes while Scott and I are trying to corral them into the bathroom.  I wish I could freeze time at these moments, just bottle all this cuteness up.  Tonight the kids were playing in Kekoa's bedroom before I could corral them into the bath.  I love it when they are sweet to each other...it is the best.

getting herself dressed

Malia has been putting on pants now for about a month...this girl is SO independent.  She loves putting on her own shoes, tries to put on socks and it doesn't matter whose socks they are.  Tonight she put on her jammies all by herself...the pants and the top.  Kekoa and I were clapping for her and she was so incredibly proud of herself.
Yay baby girl!

afternoon jump and scoot

Malia loves to go outside when she wakes up for her nap each day.  And this girl still wakes up so late from her nap, not complaining though.  Her favorite thing is to walk to the end of our street and "jump" down these three "hills" created by tree roots under the side walk.  I guess for a 1 year old, it is a pretty steep hill.  :)

And Kekoa loves to go for either an afternoon scoot or he jumps on his bike and rides around the block.  Always important to get those wiggles out before dinner.

Monday at school

These two buddies were so cute in their rain jackets this morning.  Of course I couldn't get a picture of them side by side. :(

Pretending they are inch worms

Kekoa and his many sticks.

This pillow area was a barrel of laughs today.  The boys get so crazy in this area.

Baba day

I went to a Pilates workshop today so Baba was so lucky and got to spend the day with the kiddos.  :)

They had a great time playing at the mall...rainy days kind of limit what we can do around here.  Thanks Scott for all your support. xoxo

Olympic fever

Kekoa is loving the Olympics, just like his Baba.  He was cracking us up the other night, practicing his moves.  I love this boy so much.

If you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up, he will tell you he wants to be a race car driver and an olympian, specifically a bi-athlete in the Winter Olympics.

You can hear Malia in the background yelling "I see, I see", she wants to see the video so bad.

Chinese New Year at CDM

I was brave today, took the kids to Children Discovery Museum by myself on a weekend...and not just any weekend, a rainy weekend when there is a celebration going on.  Today was a Chinese New Year celebration.  It was SO crazy crowded there, I really just wanted to leave but Kekoa had his heart set on watching the parade.

The parade made the day worth it...it was pretty awesome and both kids were completely entranced with the "lions" and all the drumming.  But now that I know how crazy it can be, I won't be going again on a rainy weekend when there is any sort of festivities going on!

The kids had a lot of fun making these fire cracker paintings.

Malia reading about Woody and Buzz

This little girl was cracking me up today, reading her book.  She is quite the character.  She thinks I am taking a picture during the video and keeps making her "cheese" smile.

Thursday Fun Day

Thursday Fun Day was spent locally today.  These kiddos are ready to go to story time at the library.

I love love love that Kekoa wore his costume today for story time.  He is so awesome.

Baby girl is obsessed with the boots, taking them off and putting them on again.

After story time, we made a trip to Costco.  This chickie hung out with Kekoa for the whole shopping experience.  Malia chose a huge cow, equally as cute.  What Kekoa doesn't know is that after I snapped this picture, I stuffed chickie under the cart, with the huge cow for their Valentine's Day surprise.  Neither one of them even caught on!

And then, after we got home and while baby sister was sleeping, Kekoa and I had some "chocolate pudding"...a healthy recipe.

I love our Thursday Fun Days.
