Monday at school

Sliding down the ramp...

An earthquake drill.  The kids had so much fun hiding under the tables, pretending they were squirrels hiding nuts.

Relaxing in the pumpkin patch...

The girls play doctor while Kekoa relaxes.

Weeeeee, so much fun on the swings.

A little fun in the sandbox...

Dahlia's bday par

No picture of the birthday girl, but the kiddos had fun.  Malia insisted on wearing her pearls out.  The hat lasted about a second before she took it off.  Malia actually had to go home early for her nap (thank you Scott for coming to pick her up).
It took Kekoa a little while to warm up, then he and his friend Caelen from school were inseparable, chasing each other around.

Kekoa couldn't wait for the cupcake...

crazy hair

fishing

We all went along for Kekoa's first time fishing at the quarry ponds by our house.  I think next time, it will be a boys trip.  It is pretty stressful having Malia around all that water and the steep embankments.  I swear she just wants to dive right in.

I spent the time with Malia, we found a nice shady and leveled out spot for her to throw rocks.  She just couldn't get enough rocks treasure in her hands.  She thought it was hilarious that the rocks would make a splash.

Kekoa came running back from his fishing spot, so excited that the fish had nibbled on the worm.  He really enjoyed spending some time with his Baba.

can't believe this is right by our house!  it is so pretty here.

fire station

Our super nice neighbor, Chris, is a fire fighter and invited the kids to come check out the fire station where he works.  I took them this morning and they were so excited to go.  Then when we got there, they both clammed up and didn't say a word...even Malia.  I have never seen her so quiet.  We got to see the inside of the fire station, I've never been inside one before.  It was really neat to see where the fire fighters sleep and their huge kitchen.  I think the funniest room was the lounge, there were about 12 lazy boy recliners in there, all circled around the T.V....Scott's heaven. :)  Chris was so patient with my zillion of questions, it is all so interesting.

Kekoa was fascinated with the maps and all the pictures of fires that fire station had fought.  Chris is not only a fire fighter but also makes all the maps...so cool!!  Malia was taking it all in, she was in complete awe of everything.  Both kids left with fire fighter badge stickers and wore them all day.  At dinner tonight, Malia was showing Scott her sticker, telling him all about her morning at the fire station.
It was a really fun way to start off our weekend!

When we got to the fire station, we were walking up and the fire truck was driving away!  It was actually pretty funny, at least Kekoa and I thought so.  I think Malia was a little confused.  They had gotten called out but would be back in 15 minutes.  We took a stroll in the neighborhood...Kekoa was so anxious to get back and see the fire trucks.

Kekoa was so excited to find this little "trail"

This girl cracks me up with how she was walking!

Back at the fire station...

Malia nervously looking at the fire trucks.

This fire truck is used to fight forest fires.  We got to sit in it while Chris drove it out into the driveway.  He turned the lights on and everything.

Wow, I like maps!  Chris made the maps in this map book!

So much cool gear.

Look at that silly face of Kekoa's!  And Malia had her hands in her mouth the entire time.

A nice smile.

Man, these fingers are just delicious.

Chris put on all his gear for the kids to see.  It is so Star Wars like.

Kekoa finally warmed up a bit towards the end.  Man, our little guys is so shy.

And when we got back home, all Kekoa did today was play "fire".  He is the rookie     "wookie" and Scott is too.  All day long when we would say "Kekoa", his response is, I'm not Kekoa, I'm the wookie!  (so cute)  He went to sleep tonight in his fire truck jammies with his new fire fighter helmet on the bed.

erik's visit

I am behind, as always, with the blog posts but have finally got everything up from Uncle Erik's visit.  There are camping pics and a trip to SF.  You'll have to go to the August posts, but they are there...

undies please

Malia wants to be just like her Ge Ge.  Everything he does, she has to copy.  I had clean laundry in the living room and baby girl found two pairs of her brother's undies.  She found me and had me help her put them on.  Now, one pair was definitely not enough and she insisted on the second pair.  Silly Malia!
