It has started, Kekoa saying "no". Scott said to mark the day, May 31st at 12:20 pm! We are trying to teach to him at least say "no thank you" :)
Of course, I couldn't choose which video was the cutest...

Dancing with Teddy
One of the songs this time in music is called, "Dancing with Teddy".a waltz. This past Thursday, the kids brought their favorite teddy bears to dance with. Kekoa wanted to bring Paulie and his "baby" (blankie). It was so cute to see all the kids with their stuffed animals.
The funniest thing happened though, as the teddies were being passed around, all the kids ditched their own teddies for someone else's. Kekoa settled on Kasper's little doggy!

Please give Kasper back his doggy...

OK mama!

Oriana comes to visit
Today, Kekoa and I were both so excited to see Oriana and her mama, Auntie Riquesha. It had been way too long. Amazing to me that Riquesha and I have known each other so long, since we were both 6 years old! Even if we don't see each other for a long time, it is like not time has passed at all when we get together. I love that.
Kekoa and I thought we may have missed them and Kekoa was SO upset, kept saying "Oriana" and almost crying! But things worked out and Kekoa wanted to show Oriana one of his favorite hikes. It is the little loop we do to look for peacocks! Again, not peacock sightings today, but we did have a very pleasant walk, finding all kinds of sticks, a potato bug, and even a trail of ants! Walking with toddlers sure does make you slow way down. This loop would only take about 5 minutes to do, walking normal speed. With the little ones, it takes about an hour! :)
Kekoa was like Oriana's little shadow, copying whatever she did. Ori was such a trooper, she kept slipping on the rocks and falling on her bottom. She would just get right up, like nothing happened, and keep on walking. Kekoa kept saying "slip"!
Afterwards, we came back to our place and these two played and played while Riquesha and I caught up. Kekoa just loves having company, as much as I do.
When I asked Kekoa what his favorite part of the day was, he said "Oriana hiking". So cute. Then he kept saying "Oriana keys", because Oriana helped me find my keys. I guess he was as impressed as I was!
We really can't wait to see them again.
Mountain lions are right here! Kekoa loves looking at the pictures of the mountain lion. Ori is trying to figure out what the heck the pictures are telling us...what to do if we get attacked!

Kekoa wasn't feeling very photogenic. He was super sad because he lost his red train car today. We can't find it anywhere, have searched high and low. Because of this, he was in a bummed mood for a little while. As we walked longer, his spirits were lifted!

They both have their stick and are leading the way...

Back at home...

Haircut for Kaiwei
Today the Fremont gang came over for some play time and dinner. No one can resist Scott's BBQ! Kekoa was SUPER excited when he heard Kaiwei at the door, came running in to greet him from his bedroom. I love seeing the love between these two. It is the best.
Jenny was so impressed with Kekoa's haircut, she wanted Scott to give Kaiwei a little trim to. It was difficult to get him to agree, but he finally did. He looked so cute sitting in the chair. He looks so different, funny what a haircut can do....even more handsome, look at those eyes, they really pop now!

Bye bye bangs...

Not too long, not too short, just right!

Kekoa is so excited about Thomas the train. He loved sitting up on my dad's lap to watch this video, a VERY special treat since he doesn't ever watch T.V.
Bye bye Thomas...
time for little monkey's to take a bath.

Two nakie booties, ready for their bath.

Little handsome boys with their super stylish haircuts! Thank you Scott! :)

Little Jiawei, well not so little really, is SO cute. He is so squishy and so mobile now, crawling all over the place. He watches the "big boys" in complete awe. He'll be walking in no time...watch out!
Where's Jiawei?

Here I am!

Jiawei was a hungry little guy. Jenny couldn't spoon the food into his mouth fast enough. She ended up just pouring it in!

Looking for peacocks
Love my train table
I bought Kekoa's train table, thinking in the back of my head that we would be moving to a bigger place. Sometimes Scott and I marvel at how ridiculous it is that we have this huge train table in our little apartment.
Should we get rid of it? Is it taking up too much space?
Then I hear Kekoa, making the cutest train noises, saying "all aboard", playing all by himself and I think, no and no to both questions. This train table brings hours of entertainment to our little monkey. He loves it.
When I am making dinner in the evening, Kekoa is playing with his table.
When I am getting breakfast together in the morning, Kekoa is playing with his table.
If we are playing in the house, chances are, we are playing with the train table!
With all this entertainment for Kekoa, I'd say the train table was a great purchase!
(In case you can't tell, the red train car is Kekoa's favorite. He looks for it first thing in the morning and carries it with him, wherever he goes!)

MOM
Kekoa will now call me "mom", not mama, not mommy, but MOM. What?
He is way too young. I pretend I don't know who mom is and Kekoa now will "look" too. He is such a little jokster, so silly.
He is asking me to carry him (mama bao bao) in this video and then at the end you can hear him say "mama uh uh uh" (mama sing me a song). It is so sweet.

Whistle
May 22
Kekoa has figured out how to make this crazy whistle work. It is adorable, watching him blow into it and then trying to pull the bottom. He doesn't want ANY help at all, won't let you go near the whistle while he is blowing. We keep explaining to him that all we want to do is help pull on the bottom, to make the crazy sounds, but he gets really upset if you try. He thinks we are going to take it away or something.
Next musical instrument? A harmonica! Anyone know where to get one?

coloring
Kekoa is loving his crayons. He looks like such a big boy, sitting at his table and coloring. Unfortunately, he also likes to chew on them for a snack! I thought we could keep the basket of crayons on the table, unsupervised, but I was wrong. He was holding the yellow crayon near his cheek. I went into the kitchen for 2 seconds, literally 2 seconds, peeked around the corner and he was chewing on something. I asked him what he was eating and he looked at his crayon basket. The yellow crayon was on top, with some teeth marks on the tip. Kekoa thought he was in big trouble and was almost crying. It was sad!
After I explained to him how we don't eat crayons, I also noticed the green one had some bit marks too. Hmmmm....basket of crayons definitely going out of reach!
