coffee...

Oh how I miss coffee. I didn't miss it really when I was pregnant with Kekoa, but boy do I miss it now. Scott makes a pot every morning, it smells so good and is just calling my name...especially when I haven't had a great night sleep. But, who wants a baby with a caffeine habit? That is reason enough for me to not have a cup of joe in the morning.

planting flowers

The dirt patch in the front yard was such an eye sore. We all couldn't wait to get some flowers in there and were finally able to get some yesterday. This morning was planting day. Kekoa was our little helper and even has "his flower"...he put in in the hole and filled in the dirt. He couldn't stop telling us about his flower. What fun to all be gardening together.
I think it looks fabulous. I can't wait for it to fill in. This spring I will plant some flower seed too, sunflowers, zinnias, and cosmos.

Before...

Almost there. Scott threw down more tanbark and it just looks so much better.

All done! Amazing what some flowers can do.

Sunday morning hike

As we were getting ready to go to the market this morning, Scott had the brilliant idea of going for a hike first. We headed over to Belgatos and started up a new trail. Who knew that there were so many trails up there? Kekoa is such a little trooper and charges up the hills. He isn't content until we get to the top of the mountain. I love that about him. The views are awesome and we even saw a couple of people riding horses. We are so lucky to live so close to places like this.
It was a gorgeous morning and I can't think of a better way to spend it. We were all smiles the entire morning....Kekoa's was definitely infectious!
We stopped off for a quick trip to the market on the way home. Kekoa loves going to the market...he is our official strawberry sampler.
After such an active morning, Kekoa conked right out for his nap.

A little snack break.

The gorgeous view.

I loved watching Kekoa and Scott chasing each other.

A little playground time before heading to the market....look at the smile! :)

Happy Birthday Jordan!

Believe it or not, our nephew Jordan is 5 years old. So crazy how fast time has flown by. I remember when he was just born and such a chubster. No he is a big boy who loves to play with his cousin Kekoa! We celebrated by going to the beach. What a perfect beach day, warm sun, yummy food and great company. Our little monkey is such a beach boy, didn't want to leave. He had the best day hanging with his cousins...getting all sandy and eating chocolate cake! :) Happy birthday Jordie...we love you very much! xoxo

My two guys, matching with their rolled up pants.

Yay, Jordan is finally here. Kekoa was a little disappointed when we first got to the beach and Jordie wasn't there yet.

5 month old Jordan...

The birthday boy now.

Uncle Mango takes a little nap.

Kekoa lies down for a minute...no nap for him though! :)

These two boys had so much fun with this bucket, filled with icy cold ocean and toys. Kekoa was completely drenched, it was great.

Waiting for lunch...yum.

Kekoa was LOVING his little slice of chocolate cake. He kept telling me, "more chocolate cake please mama, I want more chocolate" and the way he says chocolate is the cutest...he pronounces every letter so clearly.

playdate at our house

We hosted our first playdate ever for the mom's group I belong to. A two bedroom apartment is just way too small to be hosting a playdate, so I couldn't wait to host on in our new house. Kekoa was super excited too, so happy to have so many friends over. He did an amazing job sharing all his toys ( we did put his police car in the garage...he told me he didn't want to share it.) It was so much fun. I figured we would be outside the whole time, since it was such a gorgeous day out. All the kids migrated indoors to play with all of Kekoa's toys. The train table was a big hit! I only took a couple of pictures though. :(
Noah and Roseangela and their mama's stayed for dinner...we ordered pizza. These three little ones had the best time playing with each other after dinner. It was the cutest. Kekoa was SO bummed when they were leaving, crying and kept telling me "I don't want them to leave. I no want my friends leave."

Kekoa is this excited because Kasper also has a lawn mower and they are chasing each other around in a circle.

Lunch in my police car

Kekoa really didn't want to get out of his police car today so Scott asked him if he wanted to eat lunch in it. Genius. Kekoa devoured his hummus sandwich and milk. Scott and I couldn't stop giggling that our little man was outside, so content to be eating his lunch in his police car!

Kekoa really loves his "baby sister". He makes sure she is with him before he sleeps at night and snuggles right up with her. He likes changing her clothes and still wants her in the bath with him every once in awhile. I asked him if he wanted to take some pictures with her and he couldn't wait...climbed right into his chair and started saying "cheese".

I love how Kekoa says "baby sister".
