1 year checkup

Malia is a healthy girl and right where she should be.  She is very loud and it was a little hard to hear Dr. Drucker over her loud voice.  Dr. Drucker even commented on how she commands the attention of the room!

She had two shots, one in each of her squishy legs.  She cried for a second and then was fine.

Weight: 20 pounds (54%)
Height: 29 inches (43%)
Head circumference: 45 cm (52%)

Before the shot.

please no shots today

No really, no shots!

Kekoa insisted on coming today, wanted to be with his mama.  He was actually a nice distraction for Malia.

bedtime diaper kiddos

We have a new bedtime routine now.  Kekoa no longer wants to stay in the tub and play while I get Malia ready for bed.  He wants to get out with her so they can get dressed in their jammies together.  He loves to snuggle up right next to her.

Dr. Kekoa Hanson

After Malia's doctor visit today, Kekoa insisted on wearing his stethoscope.  He was fascinated with Dr. Drucker examining Malia.  Who knows, maybe one day we will have a doctor in the family!

sounds like summer

I love our impromptu playdates/dinner dates with Sara, Cole, and Ryan.  It is a nice thing to look forward to on those long afternoons.
We headed over to their place today.  The boys instantly run off and play together, it is really great.  Sara had mentioned bringing a bathing suit because she had sprinklers.  I told Kekoa before we left, he said he would go in the sprinklers if Cole did, otherwise he would not.  Kekoa has been anti-sprinkler before, not wanting to run through them.  Today was the day... Kekoa had his first sprinkler experience.  Did he love it??  I would say, yes he did.  Hearing the two boys squeal with laughter was the best sound and it really did sound like summer.
Remember those carefree summer days?  I do and running through the sprinklers is definitely part of those memories.  I am pretty sure Kekoa is hooked.  He told me on the way home that he really wanted a sprinkler just like Cole.
Thanks for the delicious dinner and company!

nakie girlie

This girl would much rather not have her clothes on. She doesn't want to stop to change her diaper and then have to put a clean one one and still have to zip back up her jammies!  That is just crazy talk.
She was adorable this morning, crawling into her favorite chair, well, actually it is Kekoa's chair, but we won't tell him.
She made the funniest face when she was peeing...yes, we sometimes have accidents on the floor, but nothing that can't be cleaned up.  She knew it was different, that her diaper wasn't on, it was hilarious.

library instead of music

Thursdays are music days, but I totally over slept today.  Scott was home and I took a nap, which ended up being an hour and a half!  Yikes, guess I was exhausted.

We took the kids to the library instead.  Malia loves crawling around and exploring.  There is so much space so she goes a little crazy.

love my car, let's get back in

school is almost out and the second monkey bar!

Kekoa was being super momtastic at school today.  It's funny, as the year is coming to an end, he is finding it harder to leave my side.  Good thing I was a floater today at school, so I could pretty much go wherever.

Would you like to buy a baby?

Arranging sight words.

Kekoa never makes or eats snack at school.  I was able to convince him to make a pizza today, which he then ate later for lunch.

Fun at the sensory table.

Kekoa has been wanting to show me that he can go to the second monkey bar!  He figured it out last week but I wasn't able to see it.  I couldn't be prouder.

Love that look of pride on his face!  My little boy.

Come on mama, come into the pirate ship.

Zooming around the play yard.

I love how he pulls back on the handle bars to get more speed going.

A nice surprise...baby sister comes to pick us up.
