Happy Halloween!

Kekoa is a pea in a pod. He is definitely a sweet pea!
Kekoa went to his first party today. It was a Baby's First Halloween Party, thrown by one of the mom's in my Mom Group. Of course, Kekoa started the party off napping in the Moby! He has been sleeping so much! He took a 3 hour nap this afternoon in the Moby! I thought for sure he would be awake for the party, but when we got there, he needed another nap. He did make an appearance though, just in time to take pictures with all the other babies in their adorable Halloween costumes! No trick or treating for us this year, but we can't wait for next year!

It's a skunk with the sweet pea!

Sweet pea lounging on his side!

All the babies! How cute! :)

Holding my rattle...

I just couldn't resist adding this picture too. I took this yesterday when Kekoa was done nursing. His new thing is he loves to talk after he is done nursing. He looks up at me with this twinkle in his eye as he coos away...so cute!

New tricks...

Mommy got me some new duds...notice the cute hedgehog outfit, matching bib, and blanket! :)
Scott just keeps saying, "Thank goodness we don't have a girl", because I just can't resist buying a cute outfit for Kekoa and girl clothes are that much cuter!

I'm flying....

Kekoa is 9 weeks old now! Some new tricks he has developed are...
1. He is talking a lot more now. He not only talks to Scott and I, but is more engaged with other people and loves talking to his toys.
2. He is able to grab onto toys for a short time.
3. He is getting more and more coordinated with his hands and is able to rub his eyes when he is tired. Today was the first time he rubbed his nose. He can also clasp his hands and then promptly put them in his mouth to suck on them!
4. He can hold his head up all by himself. I realized yesterday that I was carrying him with one arm and I didn't have to support his head with my other hand!
5. He can grab both sides of his vibrating chair and is starting to rock the chair with his movements!
6. He is able to hold his head up for a long time when he has tummy time and turns his head side to side!

We are very proud of our little boy. He gets chubbier and chubbier by the minute and is so alert. Scott took him outside the other night and Kekoa couldn't stop looking at the moon. He LOVES it! Because he is so alert, it is getting more and more difficult to put him to sleep for naps and in the evening. He just wants to keep looking around at everything. It is great to watch him learn about the world around him.
I took him for a walk to day and the wind was blowing all around us. Kekoa loved the wind and really enjoyed the sound of the leaves as they were rustling.

Here I am...holding onto my vibrating chairs. I love my friends!

Two errand day!

Yesterday was a HUGE day for Kekoa and I. We went to both Target and Trader Joe's, just the two of us! Woo hoo! Kekoa did great. He loved looking around in Target and finally fell asleep in the Moby. I was able to get all my shopping done and he didn't even wake up until we were at the checkout! Perfect timing.
Trader Joe's wasn't as smooth, but Kekoa hung in there. He liked looking at all the cheeses. It was such a great feeling to be able to run errands, to feel independent. Kekoa loves going places, he is so alert and just loves taking everything in...all the new sounds, smells, and sights.

Pumpkin Patch!

I need my nap Mommy and Daddy!!

Yeah! We finally made it to the pumpkin patch, at Ardenwood in Fremont, this past Saturday. We have been trying all month to go, to coordinate everyone's busy schedules. We were all so sad that Meilani and Jordan weren't able to join us. Ardenwood has so many pumpkins to choose from and different kinds too. It was fun to walk around the pumpkin patch and see all the kids so excited!
Kaiwei LOVES pumpkins, so he had a blast. His favorite thing was to hold onto this big, old, rusty wheelbarrow that had pumpkins in it. Kekoa was a trooper and hung in there for a long while before he was just too tired and needed to be wrapped up for a nap. We got some super cute shots of the two little boys together! Something about pumpkin patches, I just love them. Halloween is the best holiday ever! Kekoa and I are going to a "Baby's First Halloween Party" on Saturday. One of the moms in my Mommy Group is throwing the party. Unfortunately, Scott has to work. :(

12 pounder!

Look at that belly!

What are mommy and daddy doing?
Row, row, row, your boat!
Daddy loves putting me in these pj's, but they are sooo tight on my 12 pound, chubby body!

Kekoa had his 2 month check up yesterday. He is weighing in at 12 pounds!! Wow! The doctor's visit was a pretty traumatic one for Kekoa, he had to get his shots. He cried and was a bit fussier last night, but today he is back to his normal self...cute as ever.
I don't know who the shot is harder for, Kekoa or me! I was so traumatized from his last shot...he turned bright red and lost his breath! It was awful. Scott was with us at this appointment so I didn't have to watch him get the shots.
While at the doctor's office, before his shot, Kekoa laughed out loud for the first time!! He laughs a lot, but no sound comes out, so this was a huge deal for us! It was so exciting. He was sitting on Scott's lap and I was making faces at him when the cute little laugh came out. Every time I try and video him making noises or "talking", he gets camera shy and stops. One of these days I'll get that video.

2 months old!!

OMG, I can't believe our little baby boy is 2 months old. Time is flying by. He just wakes up cuter everyday. The last few days he has been very interested in talking to Scott, me, any visitors, and his toys. He can't keep his eyes off of his mommy and daddy....he is now mesmerized by us just as much as we are by him. He is also now in his new Moby position, which he really likes. He is able to look outside until I pull the material over his head, then he knows it is his nap time.

We are also establishing a bedtime routine. Kekoa gets a nice warm bath to relax him and then is changed into cozy pj's. He lays on the bed and gets some more play time, to tire him out and then a bedtime story. Our favorite bedtime story right now is "I Love You Through and Through." Scott and I used to read it to him when he was in my belly. Sometimes he is too hungry for a story, so we go straight to nursing. Since I am nursing him lying down in bed, he falls right to sleep, which is SO nice. It is a relaxing way to end the day. I often fall asleep with him! He is not sleeping through the night yet. He still wakes up about every 2 hours to nurse. Once in a blue moon I am pleasantly surprised with an extra hour or 2 of sleep when he goes 3-4 hours, but this doesn't happen very often.

My new Moby position. I love it!
Look at my cute little feet and little rolls on my thighs. Mommy bought me these cozy socks just in time for the cooler fall weather! We get a lot of comments and stares while walking down the street.

Thursday was a good day!

Wow, yesterday was quite a day! I was able to go to Pilates class, taught by the best teacher, in downtown Los Gatos. I haven't gone since I was 3 months pregnant. I was even able to walk to the Pilates studio and back home. It is the longest I have been on my own, without Kekoa. The class is for an hour and I just kept looking at the clock, thinking to myself, "Wow, an hour is a long time!" It felt really good to go to Pilates.

On our way to lunch...double trouble!

The afternoon was also filled with fun. Kekoa and I went to a Mom's Group lunch. It was SO GREAT to get out of our apartment for the afternoon and chat with other moms. I carpooled with one of the other mom's, so both our babies were in the backseat. Kekoa was so tired that he didn't really get to play with the other babies, but he had a long, restful nap in the Moby!

My hand tastes so good!

My mommy couldn't decide which video to pick...I am just too cute.

Ready for Halloween!

Our fairy godmother neighbor gave Kekoa the cutest pumpkin hat and socks. Auntie M gave us the bib. Kekoa is now ready for his first Halloween! :)

Only my wife!

"Only my wife!", says Scott. These are the words he whispers to me as I crawl out of bed and go running this morning. It is the first storm in Northern California today and it is a biggie. There is torrential downpour and the trees are swaying from the strong winds. All of this, but I still went out there to run. I was watching out our window, debating on whether or not to brave the weather, and I saw a little hummingbird sitting on our hummingbird feeder and then fly off into the storm. I figured if the hummingbirds can brave the storm, I could brave it for 30 minutes to run.

Hummingbirds feasting in the storm.
I ended up having the best run and even saw another fellow crazy runner on the trail. The trail was littered with gold leaves and the ducks and geese were having a grand time in the mud. I love watching rain fall on Vasona Lake and all the beautiful birds were trying to hide in the trees. I ended up running 3 miles (my longest distance yet) and came back home drenched, but very invigorated.
It is raining even harder now, so I am so glad I went when I did.

When is my mommy coming home?
Yeah, mom's home and I'm taking a wonderful nap!
