first bike

Kekoa's good friends, Milan and Kasper, got him this bike for his birthday! He is still a little short for it, but will be able to ride it by himself in no time. After dinner last night, I asked him if he wanted to go out and ride his bike. He was SUPER excited about it. He made sure to tell me that he needed his helmet, of course!! I pushed him around as he balanced on the bike. When he was done riding, Kekoa didn't want to take his helmet off. It was so cute, we were playing soccer with the helmet on and picking tomatoes with the helmet on. We actually came back upstairs and Kekoa still wanted to wear his helmet. I was a little nervous he was going to want to keep it on in the bath. :)
Today Kekoa wanted to show off his biking skills to baba. He made sure to tell baba to put his helmet on and off they went, speeding around the apartment. He wanted to keep his helmet on again. I think this is so funny because he used to hate it when I put his helmet on.

So early

The past couple weeks, Kekoa has completely changed his wake up time. He has never been an early riser but has decided that now would be a good time to start. He has pretty much woken up between 7:30 and 8:30 his whole 2 year existence until now. Now Kekoa is waking up at 6:00 or this morning thought it would be fun to wake up at 5:30! I tell him it is still night time (since it is dark out) and he needs to go back to sleep. This at least buys me a little time, he doesn't go back to sleep but will cuddle for a little while so I can slowly wake up. Once I am up out of bed, I can usually bring him into his room and snuggle with him some more on his bed. Needless to say, both Scott and I are completely exhausted as we get used to this new early wake up time!

no more "coldy treats"

On Wednesday afternoons, Kekoa and I have been going to the farmer's market to get "coldy treats" (shave ice). It was so incredibly hot today that I almost didn't go. The market is set up in a parking lot and the heat just radiates off the blacktop. But, today was the last day of the market until next May and Kekoa was asking for a "coldy treat", so how could I refuse. It is funny how the first time I took him to have a shave ice, he didn't really want it. Today he was holding it and sucking down the sweet juice. Notice how red his cheeks are...I told you it was HOT! :)

Hello? Sir Topham Hatt?

Kekoa has such a wonderful imagination. He has been playing "Sir Topham Hatt" with Scott, where he calls Sir Topham Hatt to tell him what is happening at the railroad station. It is so cute. (In case you do not have a child that is a train fanatic, Sir Topham Hatt is from Thomas the train, he is in charge of all the trains)

dinner buddies

Tonight Kekoa and I had a dinner date with Noah and his mama, Jessica, and Kasper and his mama, Tina. We were all a little nervous about how this would go...dinner out with 3 toddler boys...it went surprisingly well. We all got to eat (I should have taken a picture of the table when we were through) and the boys were so excited to be eating dinner with their friends. Kekoa loves having dinner out at a restaurant and even better that his friends were there.
After dinner, the boys had a blast running around. We found the perfect spot where they could run to their hearts content and they were contained!
Thanks for such a fun dinner date!

Before dinner, Kekoa met up with Noah at the park.

This "foot massage" sign was a big hit. Kekoa loved pointing to the letters and saying the alphabet.

last of the corn

Today is a little bit of a sad day, Kekoa and finished up the last of our super sweet summer corn. We have enjoyed eating it almost every day. We both LOVE corn and I love watching Kekoa eat it. It is really cute. We like our corn just plain. It is so sweet and delicious, I don't want to cover up any its flavor with sauces. I am already counting down the days until next summer when we can enjoy our yummy corn again!

making calzones

One of the best parts of Scott having the day off is getting to eat dinner together. Tonight we all pitched in and helped make calzones. Kekoa loved rolling out the dough and being part of the action. He at so incredibly much, more than usual, so many meatballs and kept asking for more. He loved dipping all his food in the pizza sauce. Dinner turned out delicious!

Saturday train ride

Kekoa and I love it when Scott has the day off, especially on the weekends. The train is now only open on the weekends, so we couldn't think of a better way to spend our Saturday morning together. Kekoa was so excited and kept saying, "mama, baba, koa ride da choo choo steamy"

Wait for it...
There's the choo choo!

After the train ride, Kekoa showed off his climbing skills at the park. The whole time at the park, Kekoa had his mouth wide open, with the hugest smile on his face.

momtastic to the max

This past week has been one of super momtasticness, I mean super. Kekoa can't let me out of his sight and wants me to hold him all the time, especially in the mornings. He has been really into his baba, only letting Scott change his diaper, or feed him, or carry him down the stairs. As of lately, all he wants is mama. The other day he even cried when I got in the shower!!
He comes and wraps his body around my legs and says "mama bao bao" (mama carry me) When I asked him this morning, would you like to change your diaper on the bed or on the floor, he replied "mama" When I ask him what train he is going to bring with him, when we go out, he now says "mama"!
I am cherishing all this love for mama. I know that time passes by so quickly and there will come a time in the near future when I am going to want to snuggle and smooch Kekoa and he is not going to want it.

birthday party

Hard to believe that I joined the mom's group when Kekoa was only 4 months old. Today we celebrated all the kiddos turning 2 years old this year! Wow! It was a great party. One of the mom's was gracious enough to host and her backyard was just perfect. The best part was that Miss Elizabeth was there to lead us in songs and play. It was a lot of fun.
I was able to snap a few shots of individual kiddos before everyone got there...once all 27 kiddos were there it was a little more difficult!

Oliver and Kekoa go for a ride!

Miss Elizabeth and Miss Alma letting the kids explore all the instruments.

Cole going for a motorcycle ride.

The blue tub comes out again, with all the instruments inside! The kiddos can't wait!

I love this pictures of Noah with his mama, Jessica.

Bryce and Kekoa playing house. It was so funny to watch these two trying to both fit through the window.

Press here for the doorbell. (Kekoa couldn't stop talking about playing with Noah in the house and "press da button")
