no more "coldy treats"
On Wednesday afternoons, Kekoa and I have been going to the farmer's market to get "coldy treats" (shave ice). It was so incredibly hot today that I almost didn't go. The market is set up in a parking lot and the heat just radiates off the blacktop. But, today was the last day of the market until next May and Kekoa was asking for a "coldy treat", so how could I refuse. It is funny how the first time I took him to have a shave ice, he didn't really want it. Today he was holding it and sucking down the sweet juice. Notice how red his cheeks are...I told you it was HOT! :)
Why are we "The Hapa's"? Hapa in Hawaiian means half. I'm a hapa girl, half Chinese. Together we are the Hapa's, half Hanson and half Parks. The "ha" is pronounced like something is funny, ha, ha, ha. The "pa" is pronounced like the "pa" in papa.
