trick or treat

Tonight was the night...Kekoa's first time trick or treating. We were both so excited because Scott took the day off. Scott had the best costume that made us laugh so hard.
We headed out early to a street nearby, it is closed off to cars and the houses go all out with Halloween decorations. It was pretty amazing.
Kekoa doesn't like big crowds and he was a little reserved, but was excited to trick or treat. He wanted to open up all his candy right away...he didn't understand why he had to wait until later. I know, it is crazy, but Kekoa hasn't had candy before!
About 15 minutes into trick or treating...which means we made it to about 3 houses...Kekoa was running across the street, tripped on shoes, and fell. His head hit the ground and skidded on the pavement. Poor baby! :(
There were plenty of tears and it put a damper on the night....he wasn't so much in the Halloween spirit after falling. I carried him down another block and then we decided we should head home. His face wasn't looking too hot and he looked like he was hurting.
By the time we walked home, Kekoa was feeling better and smiley again. We still had a fun evening...Scott and I were just a little bummed we only got a couple pieces of candy! :)

The making of a fantastic costume...

and mama the butterfly. :)

Ready to go trick or treating mama.
Kekoa was so excited to go outside and pose for a picture.

Two cutie astronauts. Kekoa is checking out Pablo...a little friend we see at the park all the time.

A little snack break.

It was the cutest thing when Kekoa would walk up and say "trick or treat".

Trying to get a better look at the dry ice smoke.

We all loved checking out all the decorated houses.

This house put on a dance show to Michael Jackson's Thriller...it was awesome! :)

Ready to go home.

A close up of Kekoa's battle wound.

Kekoa loved his first piece of chocolate...a Mr. Goodbar.

The best picture of the night!

I love hearing Kekoa say trick or treat. The neighbor down the street was fixing his truck and had a bowl of candy out for trick or treaters. Kekoa was in a better mood by this time and happy to get another piece of candy.

This time when he asked me if he could open the candy, I opened it for him. Mr. Goodbar...Kekoa's first taste of chocolate and he was in heaven.

Happy Halloween!

First Halloween...

Las Madres Halloween party

I love this time of year, love Halloween. It is so fun having a little one who has so many festivities to attend. Today was the Las Madres Halloween party, the mom's group I have been in since Kekoa was a few months old. The party was at Spina farms, way down in south San Jose. It was the perfect place for our party, small and contained, with lots of things for 2 year olds to do.
The cutest thing for me was seeing all the little toddlers in their costumes. Scott actually got Kekoa to wear his astronaut suit and he was super stoked about it. He looked like such a handsome little astronaut.

Kekoa beelined for the train, of course. Then it was off to the very bumpy tractor ride through the amazing rows of sunflowers. The highlight of Kekoa's day? Definitely getting pulled by baba in the wagon!

Kekoa hears a train.

cole and malcom...ready for the train.

Kekoa couldn't wait to pose for a picture with the caboose. I love how he is holding it!

Little devil Milan!

Trying to get the kids to line up for a picture...
didn't really work.

tractor ride here we go!

malcom was my buddy for the morning, came and sat on my lap for the tractor ride.

so excited to be on the bulldozer.

Yay, it is snack time! Xander, Kekoa and Malcom wait patiently.

Where are those snacks people?

The small wagon wasn't big enough. more boys wanted to join in on the ride!

All the kids took turns taking photos with the pumpkins. Kekoa patiently waited for his turn and then was so mellow.

Kekoa has never wanted to eat cake before...not ever. I think he saw the other kids eating these monster cake pops and decided today was the day he was going to give this cake stuff a try. Well, he absolutely loved it.

Kekoa wants on the "bulldozer"
