It doesn't get better than this

It is so hard to leave this little guy! How funny is his hair? My mom got it to curl up like this!

I love being a mom so much. Who knew I would love staying home with a baby this much? Kekoa is such a sweetie pie. My mom watches him on Wednesdays, which is great. I don't usually take advantage of this, don't usually go anywhere special, but today I actually ran some errands. I went to the mall and discovered how much I have grown to dislike shopping. Maybe it is because my heart was at home, thinking about my little boy. I was gone for about 2 hours and when I came home, Kekoa was sooo excited to see me. He was sitting in his high chair and was all smiles, from ear to ear. I tried to finish feeding him dinner and he kept fussing, reaching his arms to get out. When I took him out, he gave me the biggest hug and wet, slobbery, kiss (which was great because he had food all over his face!) He wouldn't let me go and just kept resting his head on my chest and hugging and kissing me! Talk about my heart melting. It really doesn't get any better...

Look who's back...

Yay, Papa Beezy, Auntie Jenny, and Kaiwei made if back from China! We are soooo happy they're back. We took a super quick trip to Fremont to greet them and welcome them home. We literally drove out, stayed for about 1/2 hour, and drove back home. It was still so wonderful to see them. Kekoa had a great time playing with all the toys, didn't want to stop for a second! Even though Kaiwei wasn't feeling well, he still had a lot of smiles for the camera. Welcome home guys!

Let me give you a push Kekoa!

Jetlag...what a long flight!

Kekoa loves this little car. The best part is how he knows to lift his feet, just enough, so you can push him!

Kaiwei's speech is incredible now. He can say Kekoa so clearly...

This is how I roll...

Kekoa is hilarious in the car seat right now. He hangs on both sides, like he's going on a scary roller coaster or something. Scott and I laugh so hard at him, he babbles back there, sings, rocks side to side, all while hanging on!

Kekoa discovers the kitchen

I took these pictures the other morning. I was getting Kekoa's breakfast ready and putting dishes away. Kekoa was having a ball, exploring the kitchen. His face lit up when I opened the dishwasher to empty it. He went straight for the green colander. I gave him a wooden spoon to play with too and he had so much fun making noise with the two! Who needs toys?
Reach for the...
Animal crackers!! Kekoa really wanted to open up the animal crackers! I'm sure he will figure it out in no time!
What's this?

Hot days of summer

Whew, the weather here can get sooo hot! On those blistery, sweaty, hot days, the windows get closed up, the door is shut, and our little wall unit AC is turned on. Thank goodness for the AC, even though I don't like to have everything shut and closed, the cool air is a little slice of heaven.
Sunday was one of these hot days. It was too hot for Kekoa to take his afternoon nap, he was so close to putting himself to sleep, but it just wasn't happening. What were we going to do for the whole afternoon? Staying in the apartment all afternoon is not an option! Luckily, we have made some good friends that live just down the street, about a 2 minute walk away, that have a fabulous pool! Yay! I met these fabulous mamas through my mom's group and they both have little boys too, a couple months younger than Kekoa.
We were so happy to go swimming! The cool water felt so good against our hot skin. Kekoa loves this pool too, splashing around and showing off his swimming skills. We played in the water for a long time before heading home for dinner and bedtime. By now, the apartment had time to cool down. It was so warm on Sunday, we kept the AC running all night long. I don't remember ever doing this! Usually by evening, it has cooled down enough outside to open everything back up. Again, thank goodness for the AC!

Where is Kaiwei?

May 19, 2010
Kaiwei, Papa Beezy, and Auntie Jenny have been in China for 5 1/2 weeks!! We miss them so much. They are sitting on the plane, right now, heading back home. I took these pictures the day before they left. A really special treat was to have Jordan there too, all 3 boys together. We can't wait to see them, I'm sure Kaiwei has changed a lot. I know Kekoa has!
Kaiwei is so cute. He kept touching his forehead to Kekoa and Jordan, his way of showing affection. What a sweetie!

Then it was all boy time. Kaiwei just loves playing with Jordan, wrestling with him. It was so cute to watch them, Kekoa in the background, not quite sure what is going on, but content to chew on the toys.

I love this picture...
Kekoa wants those glasses!

Let's try Papa Beezy's hat now. It looks so yummy!

Saying bye-bye!

Morning with Kekoa

Kekoa is on the move, so early in the morning!

Giving walking a try...

While feeding him breakfast, Kekoa was having so much fun. Scott and I couldn't stop laughing at our little munchkin. He is such a ham!

I love our baby boy so much. We are so lucky to have such a happy, goofy little baby. He makes every day special.

Yum, yum, banana...

This little banana teether is like a little toothbrush. Kekoa loves chewing on it and just goes to town, drooling all over the place. I love how he holds it so carefully with his cute little hands.

10 month photo shoot with mama

Oh Kekoa was exceptionally cute today. Not sure if it was the striped pj's or what, but I could not stop snapping pictures of him! He seemed really into it too, just hung out on the changing table (which he NEVER does anymore) and was perfectly content sitting on the bed too. I'm pretty sure it was because he took an almost 2 hour nap (Yay, go Kekoa!) and I started snapping pictures right when he woke up! :)

The striped pj's were originally Jordan's, passed down to Kaiwei, and finally passed down to Kekoa. It is a little weird to see him in them and I really can't believe he is finally big enough to wear them.

Hmmm, what else is there?
Let me put this blue ball away and get out a...
red shaker!!

shake, shake, shake!

I'm a BIG boy! (My mom taught this to Kekoa yesterday. If you say, "I'm a big boy" and put your arms up, Kekoa copies you!)

This sign is in my way!

Paulie needs some love...

Your turn Gorilla...

Let me give you a smoochy too!

What's in your nose?

OK, break it up guys. There's plenty of Kekoa love to go around.

Kekoa was just loving his brush, obsessed with it.

Big stretchies! Kekoa is so long now I can't even get his whole body in the picture!

Kisses from daddy.
