10 months old

Maybe I should give this pacifier thing a try?
Yay, I'm 10 months old today! Happy birthday to me!

Hard to believe Kekoa is 10 months old...only 2 more months and he will be 1. Oh no, time is flying by way too fast! It just seems like yesterday that I was feeling him move inside my belly!
He amazes me daily, blows my mind away with how much he is learning. I love him so incredibly much and feel so fortunate to be the mommy of such a special little guy. I have been cherishing every moment with him.
This has been a month of a lot of changes for Kekoa. He has become a crawling champ and loves to pull himself up onto everything. Some other things that he has accomplished this past month are...
1. making fart noises on my shoulder, tummy, arm, wherever he can AND making them on his own arm as he is trying to put himself to sleep (try not to laugh when he's doing that!! it's pretty hard)
2. throwing little tantrums when we leave the park too soon or when I take away a toy or his sippy cup
3. being able to feed himself. As of today he actually likes picking up the pieces of food and watching them fall onto the floor more than putting them in his mouth. But, Kekoa loves chunks of food and is willing to have me put them in his mouth. He opens his mouth wide, like a little bird, waiting for the next morsel.
4. Kekoa has discovered he can scream and likes to do this before bed.
5. He has become quite sophisticated with playing. He loves all his toys, will sit for a long time playing with his Little People castle, farm, and construction site. He also is newly in love with his activity table in his room. Every time we walk in his room, his legs start pumping in excitement because he thinks he will be able to play. We have to say "good-night" to the activity table before bed!
6. Kekoa is obsessed with putting toys into something and then taking them back out...this could be a castle, box, shelf, basket, whatever...it is very cute to watch. I especially love it when he "peeks" in to find his hidden object.
7. Kekoa likes to have a ball in his hand as he is cruising around, it is like his security blanket right now.
8. Sticking out his tongue. He LOVES it when he sticks his tongue out first, then waits for me to stick out my tongue (this gets a big laugh from both of us) and then he tries to grab my tongue. I put it back in my mouth and the tongue whole game starts all over again!
9. making a scrunchie face
10. copying whatever sounds or faces Scott or I are making. If I fake cough, Kekoa copies with a fake cough. Hilarious.
11. Clapping his hands
12. waving bye bye and saying bye bye
13. two new teeth have busted through....ouch!
14. pulling his hair
15. learning how to drink out of a straw
16. being able to get himself into a sitting position from lying down
17. following us from room to room
18. being able to "high 5"
19. First time brushing his teeth
20. dancing and humming along to songs
21. saying "mama"
22. giving me big, open mouth, slobbery kisses...oh the sweetness. I was reading him a story on Friday and he turned to me to give me not 1 kiss, but two in a row...talk about my heart melting all over the place!
23. sleeping longer through the night (knock on wood)
24. helping get himself out of the car seat
25. helping open the screen door when we are leaving
26. Unstacking the stacking cups
27. really swimming
28. taking some naps in the crib (they were forced naps, but he did it!)
29. learning how to self soothe by sucking either his thumb, fingers, or arm
30. crawling over to Scott when he wakes up in the morning and smacking his back or arm, to wake Scott up. He loves his daddy!
Whew...what a long list and I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. Like I said, a crazy month of changes...our baby is growing up! We love you Kekoa, sooooo much.

I took these pictures the day before his 10 month birthday. He is showing off how he likes to crawl out of his room, into the hall and pull himself up with the bookshelf! So talented.

On the move again...

I took these the morning of Kekoa's 10 month birthday. Happy birthday baby!
