The watermelon kid

Kekoa absolutely loves watermelon. I love watching him eat it, he puts the biggest pieces in his mouth, the juice dribbles out of his mouth, down his chin, and all over whatever he is wearing. The whole time his mouth is full, he is telling me "nem" (more), wanting even more to put in his mouth!

Today was the hottest day yet, scorching like it is in the summer. Are very nice friends let us come over and use their pool, the same pool we went to all the time last year. It was a little surreal being there again, Kekoa older, doing so much more, but not as into the water like he was before. We went in the kiddie pool (OMG, it was chilly), but he just wanted to stand and walk back and forth on the long step. He didn't want to jump in and get his face wet. Very different than last year. He was so excited to play with his tug boat, filling it with water and then dumping it all out of the spout.
We stopped for a watermelon snack break. Kekoa was in heaven and it was nice not having to worry about the juice getting all over the place. :)

Kekoa still has the best posture, sits up so nice and straight.
Still love this gorgeous ginko tree, providing us with its lovely shade. Kekoa kept saying "da su" (big tree).
