Friday we went to the beach. It had been super hot all week, not so hot on Friday though! The beach was still so nice, our first beach day of the spring.
Saturday was the Children's Fantasy Fair in downtown. It was just a walk away for us and so much fun.
Which brings me to today. I received beautiful flowers from my in-laws in Texas with a very sweet card and book. This morning, Scott made french toast (yum, my fave) and Kekoa gave me a gorgeous bouquet of deep purple tulips. All I wanted to do today was hang out with my family and go for a hike. We took Kekoa up to our favorite tree. He was on a "peacot" (peacock) hunt the entire time...had his eyes peeled for one, but there was not spotting of a live one.
Thank you Scott for making this such a special weekend! You are the best. I am so lucky to have you and to be Kekoa's mama. xoxo
Kekoa, please say cheese!

Cheese!

The only peacock we saw this morning!

Rescuing a millipede off the trail.

The gorgeous view from the trail.
There were many stops so Kekoa could dig in the dirt!

There were so many beautiful spring flowers out along the trail.
and these really cool "wishes". We blew on many!

Made it to the tree!
At our tree...
Check out my new backpack, a Mother's Day gift! Kekoa says "mama, bao bao" (carry me)

We found this little spring on the side of the trail. Kekoa could have stayed here all day, throwing rocks into it!
Scott and Kekoa were cracking each other up as we walked down the steep trail. Kekoa really wanted to walk on his own, but it was super steep and we needed to get back a little quicker than his little legs would allow! To keep Kekoa from squirming out his arms, Scott was bouncing him and making funny noises.
This is the resident cat at the trailhead. He is super old and super sweet. Kekoa did such a good job being gentle and petting him so softly.
Want some "wa wa" Mr. kitty?
Kekoa loves to share...here kitty, have some of my "wa wa".
