apple picking

Today we headed out to Gizdich Ranch for apple picking!  One thing crossed off my autumn bucket list.  It was a perfect day to go, nice and cool with rain threatening but never coming down (until we were ready to leave).  Last year when we went apple picking it was way too hot!  And to make it even better, we were able to see Tessa, Jeff and Henry.  They arrived right when we were eating lunch so we didn't actually get to pick any apples with them, but it was still nice to see them!

Both kids had a good time picking their perfect apples.  Malia especially loved holding onto her one treasured apple and Kekoa was on the hunt for baby apples.  Our favorites from Gizdich are their golden delicious.  I am even hoping to cross another thing off my fall bucket list...make some sort of apple dessert, preferably a pie.  I say this every year and it never happens.

After apple picking, we headed over to the shop for some delicious pie.  Kekoa didn't like the pie and just ate all the ice cream from my pie a la mode.
