just me and my boy

I had a playdate today with Kekoa, just the two of us. We were both excited to go to Happy Hollow. It had been a super long time since we had been there. We went towards the end of the day, which was fabulous. It was empty and all the animals were out and moving around.
This was our first trip to Happy Hollow where Kekoa was really interested in the rides. We first headed to the cars so he could drive. He looked so adorable sitting in the police car. Next stop was Danny's Dragon ride or as Kekoa calls it, "the dragon train". We went on this one twice in a row. Kekoa's favorite thing was going through the shimmery green tunnel.
Now it was time to head to the zoo and check out all the animals. The black and white lemurs were so active, making crazy calling sounds. It is just amazing how much Kekoa learns and remembers. As we were leaving Happy Hollow, we stopped to watch the merry-go-round. Kekoa was excited to see a black and white lemur as one of the animals a kid was sitting on. He pointed it out to me, "look mommy, a lemur".

I loved having a playdate with my boy. It was so nice to have some special time with him while my mom spent time with Malia. I also realize how much easier it is to just be in charge of one of my kiddos! We now have a season pass to Happy Hollow so will be going a lot!

This was the last ride of the day. The lady operating the ride was so nice and let Kekoa go one more time. He was the only child left!


On the way out, Kekoa caught sight of this bridge and just had to walk across it. I must say, it is a pretty amazing feeling to be as tall as the trees.
