Nature boy

January 17th

I didn't make any big New Year resolutions this year but did think about some things I would like to do more of, or to change up. One thing is that I want to get out there more, do some new things with Kekoa instead of the same 'ol stuff all the time. There is a group called Strollerhikes and I have been trying to attend one of the hikes for over a year now. For some reason, the scheduling never works out for us. The hike is either too far away or during Kekoa's nap. Well, I was so elated because I thought today was going to the the day, the scheduled hike would actually work for us. We hurried this morning, ate breakfast, and got out of the house by 9 am! It was SUPER foggy out, like pea soup. Kekoa and I pulled into the parking lot of McClellan park to find it empty. Uh-oh...was the hike cancelled? Yes it was. :(
But, I thought, hey, we drove here and its not like I can't go for a hike with just Kekoa...so that is exactly what we did. Both of us were so excited to be somewhere new. The park was really gorgeous, so many trees and Stevens Creek was rushing by along the trail. I walked for about a half hour and then let Kekoa free (out of the stroller) to roam. He is really a nature boy...picking up all the sticks, leaves, pine cones, whatever he could find. The fog made for a really unique kind of morning. Next time we will have to bring baba with us! :)

Look mama, I found a leaf!

I'm not sure if you can see, but Kekoa is having the best time running around the plants. All the plants have chicken wire around them for protection from the deer!
We had fun putting all kinds of things through the holes in the chicken wire!
What is this??
So cool... a pine cone!
Hmmm, should I walk on the trail or on the paved path?

"Caaa, caaa" Kekoa sees the crows and calls out to them.

Kekoa gets very concerned when he thinks the stroller isn't coming with us! He had to walk back up the little trail to make sure the stroller got to see the creek too!

Going in for a kiss:)
Kekoa was so adorable sitting on this bench and eating his snack! He looks like such a big boy!
