My birthday

I had a great 1st birthday. The best thing about the day was that daddy took the day off of work, so we had the whole day to spend together as a family. I opened a whole bunch of presents first thing in the morning. I got so many cool gifts and I love all of them! Daddy also read me some stories and I got to play with my birthday ballon in my highchair while I ate breakfast. Afterwards, mama and daddy took me on a long walk. This is part of our routine and I always point to go outside. There is so much to see out there, big trucks, Bella the cat, trees, airplanes flying overhead, all kinds of interesting things. After my very short morning nap, only 30 minutes, we went for a bike ride down the creek trail. There is nothing better than being in the bike seat, the wind blowing in my face, and so many things to discover. I was way too excited about my birthday to sleep! Mama and daddy were not too happy about my short nap, especially since I am only taking one a day now. We rode all the way to the dog park, about 4 miles away. There was a really cute basset hound at the dog park that kept following me around. I love the creek trail. I always see all kinds of ducks, geese, and dogs on the trail. We hopped back on the bikes and headed back home so I could rest for awhile. Mama thought I was going to fall asleep, but of course I didn't do that! I did get a good rest in though.

Lucky me, I had another outing in the afternoon! Our first stop was Walgreens and the Nothing Bundt Cakes shop. I have outgrown my size 3 diapers, so we had to have an emergency diaper pick up at Walgreens. Mama and daddy can't believe I am in size 4's now! At the cake shop, mama and daddy got little bundt cakes in celebration of my birthday. Since I don't like cake, I let them eat all of my share. I guess this place has really delicious cakes. The lady working there was so nice, she sang happy birthday to me and gave me a blue balloon. I couldn't stop playing with it in the car! Next stop was Bachman park, my favorite. I wanted to show daddy how I could cruise along the ledge and show him my walking skills. I love it when daddy comes to the park too, he is the best at pushing me in the swings. I had so much fun sorting tanbark, walking, and eating my snack. Daddy even put me in the big kid swing, which was awesome! After playing at the park, we headed home for my dinner and bath and bedtime. I was starting to get cranky too from not getting much sleep today. Thank you for a great 1st birthday! Yay, I'm one!

Kekoa is all boy. He just loves picking up the tanbark. In this video Kekoa eats a raisin, well he chews on it. He chewed on this raisin the whole time we were at the park, like it was a piece of gum!
