Kekoa will be 1 in exactly one week. I can't even believe it has been almost a year since he was born. I was reading on a website tonight all these moms' comments on how they are feeling about their babies turning 1. They all had bittersweet feelings about it. I realize that I am also feeling bittersweet about Kekoa turning 1. I'm so so sad that he is no longer a little baby, but so excited for all the milestones he is still going to reach. I am so fortunate to have had this whole year to raise him without the added stress of going back to work (thank you Scott).
Tonight while I was putting Kekoa to sleep, he kept smushing his face onto my lips so I could give him kisses. He has been doing this the last few nights and it is the cutest thing to have these big chubby cheeks against me and then he moves his face so I kiss his eye lids! He has also been crawling on me and curling himself into a little ball before he falls asleep. Of course my heart is melting. I'm going to miss it when he stops being such a cuddly little guy, so I just savor every moment of it now!
Being a mom is the best thing in the world. I didn't know what to expect but never thought I would love it so much.
