Teething?

Our poor little son has 3 teeth coming in, all at the same time! This past week has been SUPER tough, especially the last few days. Kekoa had a little fever and couldn't sleep at night...which means we weren't sleeping either. It has been taking me up to 2 1/2 hours to get to fall asleep at night! Whew, that is just plain exhausting! He was taking really long naps, over 2 hours in the afternoon. While that sound really wonderful, it actually really messed with his schedule and his night time sleep. Thank goodness last night he was feeling better and actually slept, after fighting to go to sleep. It took almost 2 hours last night to get to finally surrender to slumber! We all woke up this morning, feeling much better. He seemed to be back to his normal self and normal schedule, except for his eating. He has been on an eating strike. I don't know if this has to do with the teething, but it is quite frustrating. At least I have some reassurance that he is getting his calories because he is still nursing.

The drool has been out of hand. Kekoa has never been a drooler, but now he has pools of it in his mouth and rivers of it flowing down his chin. I didn't put a bib on him on Tuesday and his shirt was just drenched in about 10 minutes! He is chewing his thumbs and just out of sorts. The only great thing about Kekoa not feeling so good the past few days is how cuddly he's been. He has been so content just sitting on my lap and having me hold him. I miss it! Now that he is mobile, he'll still give me hugs and kisses, but really just wants to get down to explore. The past few days I've been taking advantage of lying with him on the couch, he likes to just rest his head on my chest, and sitting on the porch with him.

We are not sure if he is getting more teeth that we just can't see yet, but that is what it seems like. Teething is no fun!!
