What a wonderful morning Kekoa and I had! As Scott says, he is just like me. He would much rather be outside, so that is where we headed, bright and early. Scott is working the day shift today, so it is just me and Kekoa all day long today. (We really miss him!) After playing together, with his stacking cups, I put Kekoa in the BOB stroller and was out for a run by 7:15 am! We had two destinations, the library, to return my overdue book (oops) and Bachman park. The cool morning air was so nice. I knew I had to go for a run today before it got too hot. Yesterday was soooo hot! Kekoa was so cute as I was running. He was sitting up in the stroller and loving the "wind" blowing on his face. He was so excited and taking it all in. His favorite things to see, besides birds or airplanes flying in the sky, are big trucks. My goodness, he just loves them. If we see a garbage truck, I always stop so he can watch it. He is fascinated!
After running 3 miles, we ended up at the park. It was shady and cool. The vibe was even more mellow than it normally is since we were the only people there. I put Kekoa in the swing and he couldn't stop looking up at the tall pine trees. He kept howling and pointing, with his hand (he doesn't have the pointer finger down yet) at the beautiful trees. I took him out of the swing and let him feel the bark of the trees, he really enjoyed this too. He kept petting the tree! He was also cracking up in the swing because I would flip up my shirt to show him my belly button. He thought that was too funny. He is a little obsessed with my belly button right now.
We walked home in time for nap time. He fell right asleep. I was so anxious that it would take him forever to go down. Scott can usually put him down much faster than I can. But he didn't even put up a fight, just nursed and fell asleep for over an hour!! Now we are on our way to a swimming playdate! I hope his second nap is as easy as the first! Keep your fingers crossed.
