I ended up leaving Texas to move back to California. Scott graduated from college and went to the Philippines with the Peace Corps. We kept in touch over the years, sporadically, through email.
5 years ago, we spoke on the phone for the first time in years. We then started talking on the phone everyday. In December, I went to visit Scott. He was living in Honolulu, Hawaii. I was very nervous to go. I hadn't seen Scott in so long, what if it was weird, awkward? Well, I had a backup plan. My friend Chris lives in the North Shore. He would pick me up in Honolulu if it wasn't working out with Scott! Ends up that Chris ended up marrying Scott and I!

3 years ago, July 14th, 2007, Scott and I were married in Carmel, CA. We had a really fun, small, casual, wedding. We stood on the cliffs, overlooking the white sand beach, and exchanged our vows. It feels like I've known Scott forever. I am so lucky to be married to my best friend. Now we have our little baby boy and I see what an amazing father Scott is. I knew he would be the best daddy and he just blows me away every day. I love you Scott, with all my heart.

We spent our anniversary wine tasting in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It was a lovely day, warm and beautiful. My dad, Jenny, and Kaiwei came to keep Kekoa company while we were gone. We went to 3 wineries and then had a picnic in the redwood forest next to a little stream. It was a perfect way to end our relaxing day.
Our first stop in downtown Saratoga, Cinnabar.
We drove into the mountains on a beautiful, windy road and found the second winery, Cooper-Garrod. There is such an interesting history here. Mr. Cooper was a test flight pilot for NASA. There were all these pictures of him and the planes he flew. It was pretty amazing. He started making wines just for his family and friends. Originally, he owned 200 acres of land , but donated 100 acres to Open Space, dedicated to giving the public access to land. There are stables and horse back riding. We really enjoyed the vibe up at this winery and the man pouring our wines was the best! He is friends with Mr. Cooper and told us all kinds of interesting facts.
Beautiful horses at the winery too!
Our 3rd and final stop, Savannah-Chanelle...so beautiful and really yummy wines!
Gorgeous door handles!
Look at this delicious spread they had! Yummy!
Walking into the forest to find our picnic spot.
Scott clearing away the branches for our perfect picnic spot.
