What a fabulous party we had today, it was super fun! Kekoa wanted a "knight/dragon" party, so that was the theme. I found a ton of ideas on Pinterest that made it so much fun to plan. For the past two nights, right before he falls asleep, Kekoa said, "I can't wait for my party." Yesterday and this morning was all about decorating. He was so excited about all the boxes coming in the mail, many with party decorations, many with presents for him. He's so cute while he waits for me to open the box, peak inside, and make sure it is something he can see...something he doesn't have to wait to open.
I was so happy that my mom and Bob came early to help. They rocked the fruit kabobs!
The house was busting out of the seams...there were a ton of people here, almost 40 (including some babies). I found Kekoa in his room a few times, a little overwhelmed by the amount of kids here. He warmed up though and had a lot of fun.
There was shield decorating...which was a huge hit. Loved the idea on Pinterest of taking cake cardboard and turning it into shield. I was planning on cutting foam out into shield shapes, which would have been a crazy amount of work. Scott was awesome and made shield handles out of duct tape.
There was a quest too. The kids went into the dragon lands and looked for jewels and treasure. The kids absolutely loved it and it was really cute seeing them all out in the yard, with their decorated shields, searching for treasures. I heard many of the kids as they left telling their parents they would have to go through the dragon lands to get to the car...super cute!!
The biggest hit...pumping up the balloons for balloon animals and swords. Who knew that Scott had this as a hidden talent? He has been on youtube, finding all kinds of fun shapes to make out of balloons.
I am so happy we had a party for our little knight. He had a great time...can't believe he is turning 4.
