And then came the swell

We were at the North Shore for the first swell of the surfing season. What does this mean? It means that there are actually waves! I didn't realize how lucky we were, the entire time we were there, the ocean was so calm. It was perfect to go swimming, I wasn't afraid to take Kekoa in the water with me at all. This all changed on Sunday. The North Shore became too scary to bring Kekoa in. The calm waters of Tabletop beach were no more. I actually had the most fun swimming in the waves at Tabletop, but was way too sacred to take Kekoa in with me. I love it when there are waves. I love bobbing up in down and then diving underneath them before they break.

We actually got to see the best of both worlds. We were really fortunate to have such calm seas for most of our vacation and then to be able to watch the waves too!

This photo was taken on Thursday, Sept. 16. Notice how calm and inviting the water is.
This is the same spot, 3 days later! The orange flags are a warning to not come in!

Kekoa was impressed with the swell too!
