3 years old

Dear little 3 year old monkey,

I can't believe it, you are really 3! How bittersweet to have you grow older. You are so much fun and also becoming quite the little pistol. You are still such a little lovey boy, a snuggler. You tell me every day that you want to snuggle with me and "I want you closer mommy". At night, you like it when my arm is completely around you and you are spooned into my side. I love your luscious smooches and you love to give them!

I am so proud of you, so proud of all you have accomplished so far. You are potty trained, you speak so well, you are climbing and jumping off of everything, you love to run, you can ride your tricycle, you are kind, so smart, and the best big brother on the planet. You love your baby sister so much, love to greet her when she wakes up, love to give her smooches, love to get in her face and say "Hi baby sister", you also will bring her toys to share.

You love to ask so many questions, "why mommy?" is something I hear all day long. You are like a sponge and just soak up every explanation and learn so much from the stories we read you too. You love hearing stories and being read to. You love going to the library to pick out new books. You also love Spiderman, Bob the Builder (even though you've never seen either one of the shows), and still your trains. Of course, you love music but not as much dancing these days. Sometimes you will still dance with your mommy.

You are all boy and I watch you with such fascination each day. You are very cautious and a real rule follower...you must be buckled in and will remind me if I haven't buckled you in yet. Your helmet is a must when we go on your tricycle or ride the bike together. You get very concerned if you see someone without their helmet on, "mommy, that not good" is what you tell me.

I am so lucky to have such an amazing son, so lucky I get to be your mama and spend my days with you.

It really just seems like yesterday that we were bringing you home from the hospital and in a few weeks you will be starting preschool!

We love you so much little man, with all our hearts.
