Galena Park snow day

Kekoa and Malia experienced the snow for the first time today…well really, Kekoa experienced it while Malia took a snooze in the carrier.  We stopped on the way to Galena Park to rent snow boots for me and Scott and purchased an orange saucer to disk to slide down the mountain (I mean, orange is Kekoa’s favorite color after all).

It was soooooo cute seeing Kekoa in all his snow clothing and orange goggles.  He picked out a very cool wolf hat too (he has been wanting an animal hat for forever).  I think it added that extra special touch to his already adorable snow outfit.  I loved how he would just plop down and start rolling in the snow.  It must be something to lay down on the ground and have it be ok.

Once he got comfortable with the snow, there was no turning back.  He even wanted to sled down all by himself.  It was hilarious watching him slide down the hill, laying down flat on the saucer, letting it take him every which way.

After the snow, we relaxed in the car and had lunch.  Baba built us a snowman when he was done.  All day long Kekoa kept telling us how the snowman became real after we left and it is going sledding on a blue saucer!

Want a snowball Kekoa?  He absolutely did not!  It took a little while to get used to the snow and want to touch it, then we couldn't get him off of it.
I really need to sleep people, when can I get in that carrier and sleep?

Malia was so cute, she fell asleep right when I put her in the carrier and then was talking in her sleep.

such a pretty view from the bridge.

Here comes Baba!

Making snow angels.  And this is how Kekoa was facing on the path, with his feet pointing up towards the top.

Going to go by himself...

Baba builds a snowman...

bye bye, thanks for a fun day!
