January beach day

You can call me super mommy...yes, I actually did it, took both kids to the beach by myself!  I remember the first time I took Kekoa to the grocery store by myself and what a milestone achievement that was for me as a new mommy.  Now look at me...two kids in tow and headed to the beach! :)

It was a perfect day to go to the beach...so warm and toasty.  After such cold weather, it was wonderful to have this break in the weather.  It was Malia's first time at the beach as a "big girl" and she loved it...just chilled out on the blanket, so happy and content.  Yay, we have another beach baby!

Kekoa was having a great time too, digging in the sand and rolling around.  My favorite part was going for a walk with both kiddos on the beach.  Kekoa thought it was so cool to find a piece of kelp, when I explained what it was he even said, "cool"...carried it around with him for most of our walk.  Malia decided to take a little snooze on our walk, not a long quality nap or anything, but I'll take it.

And what is a beach day without ending it with some ice cream from the Penny Creamery.  I am really excited because we found a cafe called The Picnic Basket, right across from our beach that serves Penny Creamery ice cream.  This means we don't have to drive downtown anymore, but can just walk and grab a cone on the beach!  Kekoa and his chocolate...just loves it and gets it all over his face, it is quite possibly one of the most adorable things.

We did miss Baba today, the beach just wasn't the same without him.  Next time he will have to come for sure.
Kekoa was so excited to have his picture taken with this fluke.

Bad mommy forgot any toys for Malia to play with.  Luckily, this pink sand toy boat was just the thing for her to chew on.  I just had to clean it off really well!

So content, just checking everything out.

Best beach day ever mommy!

Chasing away the seagulls for us.

On our beach stroll.

Found a crab carapace on our walk.

My view when I look down from the baby carrier...love those cheeks!

Watching Kekoa eat chocolate ice cream (well, chocolate sorbet in this case) brings me so much joy. He loves it so much...gets it all over his face.  We never let him finish the whole cone and he is so good about it...lets me throw it out.  This chocolate sorbet is so strong, tastes like a dark chocolate candy bar.

We took a walk out on the wharf and Kekoa finished his cone, sans ice cream.  He loved being out over the ocean.

Still a chocolate face from the leftover sorbet in the waffle cone...so cute.

Malia is so mad to be in the stroller and not sharing any ice cream treats!

A long, fun day at the beach = passing out in the car.

  1. Woohoo! Good job Mama! I just got my cousin and her kids hooked on the Penny Creamery. It's so good! Hope we can get the kids together at the beach sometime soon :)
