hottest day EVER!

That was today, by far, the hottest day ever in Santa Cruz. We knew it was going to be hot here at home, so we thought heading to the beach would be a great idea. We couldn't have been more wrong. It was hotter in Santa Cruz than it was here! In my whole life of going to Santa Cruz, it has never been so hot. It was 104 degrees! At one point we were driving through town and it was 106! The thermometer in my car decreased as we headed over the hill to come home...that has NEVER happened before.

Needless to say, we didn't stay long. We grabbed lunch, Kekoa and I put our feet in the water, Malia cried and fussed (poor baby, felt so bad for her), got some ice cream (Kekoa got his own kids cone today and boy was he stoked), and headed home. We were in Santa Cruz for about an hour total.

It was still very hot here too, but we welcomed the AC. Oh, how I love our AC, never take that for granted, not ever. Kekoa kept telling us how we needed to go back to the beach when it is not so hot! I agree. Nothing worse than being so hot, surrounded by water, but the water was still too cold to just jump in and swim.

My two rosy cheeked kiddos.
