What a fun day we had today.
We headed to the East Bay for a hike in Sunol Regional Park, one of my favorite places to hike. It has been so long since I've been here, years, so I was very excited to come back. The best part was meeting up with the Fremont crew. The boys did such a great job hiking, they were real troopers. Malia hung out in her stroller and was loving being outside with all the trees.
Sunol is so beautiful, especially in the fall. The lighting and the trees are just amazing.
some highlights...
finding a butterfly with Kekoa. It had died, but we were able to look at its beautiful wings and Kekoa moved it off the trail.
finding acorns. The boys thought this was the best. They loved taking off the "top hats" of the acorns.
spotting woodpeckers. Kekoa loved looking for the woodpeckers. We saw so many, their beautiful red heads whizzing past.
Listening to Kekoa tell himself, "I think I can, I think I can" as we were walking up the steep hills. We have been reading his book, so it was adorable to hear him cheering himself on.
playing in the stream. Watching Kaiwei and Kekoa playing was too funny. Mackie stayed off on his own, playing with trucks. He didn't want any part of the craziness of the big boys. When the boys were nunie boonies, that was the best. Little nakie buns, playing in a cold mountain stream, can't get much cuter than that!
Off we go...
Trying to get the three boys to pose on this bridge was impossible. Kaiwei was so upset about something, so wasn't very photogenic. He told me, after he had a snack, that he was so upset because he was hungry!
Kekoa trying to put his arms around Mackie, but he wasn't having it.
Kekoa is having a blast, swinging his arms, singing while he is walking.
In case you are wondering, Malia's onesie says, "My mommy is the best!"
Lunch break!
Malia is a big hit with Kaiwei and...
her Ge Ge, of course.
Almost to the river. That river kept those boys going, they couldn't wait to play in it!
Scott showing off his legs! ;)
Walking back to the car for Kekoa's change of clothes. Good thing I remembered them!
