Kekoa has been in school for almost a month now. I can't believe it. He loves it and has grown so much already. I have been able to leave him on Tuesdays and he plays independently on my "working" day, Thursdays. He loves to eat lunch at school on Thursdays, gets super excited about it. He has even picked out his name tag, recognized his name, which is super exciting. When he comes in the classroom, Kekoa moves his picture magnet from the home to school side and then finds his cubby for his backpack. It is so great.
I love that he actually does art at school. He has never been that interested in art before. Of course, his first love is the trains, but today he was super into squeezing glue. The art project was to squeeze glue and then put glitter on top of it. He did a couple pieces of paper with the glitter, then decided he just wanted to squeeze glue. He went through at least 2 little bottles of the glue. It was fantastic.
Kekoa LOVES the trains at school. No big surprise right?
Today was picture day at school. Always a challenge to get little ones to all get together and take a picture. I was so proud of Kekoa for taking the picture without having me in it too. He was the only one, with a parent there, that did it all by himself!
Circle time still isn't his favorite, but today he was singing so loud, "twinkle twinkle." I wish I had gotten it on video. I did get a few videos of him singing, it is so cute.
What I am learning about Kekoa is that he really loves to sing songs that he knows all the words to. He watches my lips while I sing and I can see him really trying to learn the words.
