3 years and 2 months old
Dear little monkey,
You are becoming such a big boy, right before our very eyes. You are simply amazing, blow us away each and every day. I really can't believe how independent you are becoming, I thought it would never happen. Yesterday at school, you didn't even want to sit in my lap during circle time! What is that all about? You were looking for Natalie and wanted to sit next to her. During circle time, you were fully participating, singing all the songs, giggling, it was wonderful to watch. You absolutely love school. I am so happy with your school, it is a great environment for you. You are so comfortable there and don't have any problem with me leaving you there on Tuesdays....all I have to say about that is "wow".
You are always saying things that make me laugh so hard. Yesterday as were were leaving the library, I said, "I love going to the library." Then you said, "I love the library, too. I love the library", then turned around and said, "I love you library", laughing as I was cracking up. You definitely like being silly and goofy.
I must say, you are the best big brother (ge ge pronounced guh guh, like duh) on the planet. You love your baby sister with all your heart. You miss her when you are at school and always want to say hello to her when she wakes from a nap. I have caught you many times, lying next to her on her jungle mat, being so loving and showing her all the toys. You have pretty much adjusted to having her around. Of course there are still moments where you want all my attention, but it has gotten so much better.
Your imagination has completely blown up, it is the best to listen and watch you play. Currently you are pretending some of your train tracks are Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story. You will take trains you have and pretend they are other characters that you want, but don't have. The things you imagine are pretty awesome.
But what comes along with this imagination are your fears. You are so scared of the dark, actually sleep with your light on at night. You have an unreasonable fear of dark clouds..you think it is going to rain and then thunder and lightning, which you are so scared of. Just this week I was able to finally get you to ride on my bike with me. We got stuck in a freak thunder storm months ago and you were so scared that if you rode on my bike, it would thunder again. It is like a love/hate thing because you also love to read stories that have thunder and lighting in the pictures.
Your newest obsession this month is your new bicycle. You have been riding it so much. We ride to the park all the time, go riding around the block, and then again, you ride in the backyard. You just love it. When your baba and I watch you riding, we forget you are only 3 years old! You can turn so easily, get off of it to push it up a curb, and then hop back on.
