Today, the kiddos and I gave Baba a much needed break. We went to Oak Meadow to ride the train and have a picnic. We couldn't of asked for a better day, it was gorgeous out...feels like spring already. Kekoa loved that baby sister was along on our adventure. He was in such good spirits today, such a difference from yesterday.
The best part for me was the picnic. Malia is fully feeding herself now, so that meant that all 3 of us were eating, no one was being fed. Malia had steamed broccoli pieces today for the first time and you would think that I was giving her chocolate...she scarfed them down faster than I could put them on the little tray. I love watching her decided what she wants to pick up, what her taste buds are craving at that moment. She fully has her pincher grasp down too, which is pretty cool. Kekoa was being an extra great big brother while we were together today...it was really nice.
Today was the first time that going out with the two kids, together, was just completely fun and not so much hard work. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was still work, but I guess what I am trying to say that there was so much more enjoyable than it has ever been in the past. The fun factor outweighed the hard factor. We all had a super great time, enjoying the sunshine, enjoying our food, and people watching.
While we were sitting together, having our picnic, I had to pinch myself...I am the mama to these two kiddos. Sometimes I do that, have this "wow" moment, where it really hits me that I am a mom of 2 kids! Does that ever happen to anyone else?
