The witching hour, that wonderful time in the day when a baby just cries. Our baby girl has decided that her witching hour is around 7:00 pm, perfect timing, right when we are trying to get Kekoa ready for bed! We have had a couple of really rough nights this week. Monday night was the worst. Kekoa had been holding it together so well and just lost it, crying actually screaming for me. I had to nurse Malia, it was a big mess.
Last night was bad too. Malia wouldn't go to sleep, kept waking up after a few minutes. We think she has gas, her tummy just seemed upset. Kekoa was waiting for me to put him to sleep. Scott finally got Kekoa to sleep and I fell asleep on the couch, sitting up, with Malia sleeping on the nursing pillow in my lap. I didn't want to move her and have her wake up again.
I'm not sure what is going to happen when Scott has to go back to work. I will be home alone at night, trying to put two kids to sleep on my own. We are going to work really hard this month to try and get some sort of schedule and routine down.
I'm proud of us tonight though. We figured out that it is Malia's witching hour, it doesn't mean she is hungry, she is just going to cry. We gave her some gripe water, which seemed to have settled her belly. Scott put Malia to sleep and I was on Kekoa duty. He was SUPER happy to have his mama getting him ready for bed. We even took a bath together, which we haven't done in a super duper long time. He kept telling me how happy it made him that we got to take a bath together. He was a much happier camper this evening, having some time with his mama.
