"choo choo"

Dearest Kekoa,
I want you to know how proud we are of you, how you have welcomed your baby sister into our family with such open arms and so many smoochies. Over the past 3 weeks of her being home, we have all been adjusting and you have been doing so great. I know it is so hard for you to have to share your mama. You definitely have meltdowns, it just must get to be too much at times, but I'm surprised at how few you have had.
You still get cuter and cuter each day. You are so articulate and crack us up with the things you say. You also give us a run for our money, you are the champion at negotiating a little more train time, a little more park time, a little more bath time, I think you get the picture. When you are not ready to do something, you say, "I will not eat dinner" or "I will not wash my hands", " I will not take a nap" or "not anything", when given a choice between two things. It is really cute to hear you saying "not", but at the same time it can get pretty frustrating. Setting the timer works really well for you, most of the time. I'll tell you I'm setting the dinner timer or lunch timer or wash the hands timer and you say "Ok Mommy".
The best thing you say to us right now is "I love you Mommy" or "I love you Baba", or "I love you baby Malia". You tell us you love us all the time. It never gets old, I never get tired of hearing it. You say it at random times and you even say it when you know I am frustrated with you and then top it off with a kiss!
The best news is that you are pretty much potty trained. You decided, a few days after Malia came home, that you didn't want to wear diapers anymore, and that was that. You have had a few accidents and still wear diapers to sleep, but overall, you are doing amazing. You are working towards completing your train collection. You want Edward, Emily, Toby, and Percy...all 4 trains. Your Baba and I have decided that we won't give you all 4 at once, but spread them out...keep the incentive going to keep going on the potty. We will get you Edward this week since it has been over a month of being in undies. We are super duper proud of you.
While you have decided to be potty trained, your sleeping has regressed since your baby sister has come home. You really need me again to get to sleep. Part of me hasn't really minded, since it is really the only time in the day we get to snuggle together, just the two of us. I am hoping that you will get back to where you were before Malia came home, where I would snuggle with you for just a little bit, and then you would put yourself to sleep. Since your Baba is going back to work on Sunday, I really need to you put yourself to sleep!
We have so much fun with you. I just wish you weren't turning three already, just in a couple of months! Where has all the time gone? It has really gone by way too fast.
I love you with all my heart, all my Spencer heart, all my Hiro heart, and all my Edward heart too.
love,
your mama
oxoxo
