cherishing the time

Right now, I am cherishing all my time I have with Kekoa. Very soon it won't be just the two of us.

I am amazed at how much he changes, how much his vocabulary grows each day, and all the connections he makes.
On Friday, we went to school, he had a make up class. As we were leaving, he was talking so much to Teacher Anjelica, telling her, "see you Tuesday", and "have a nice weekend". I love how comfortable he is at school and how he had really come out of his shell. Teacher Anjelica complimented him, telling him he was the best behaved student at school. He was the only one sitting in his chair, patiently listening to the stories and singing the songs.

Afterwards, we went to Costco together. Costco is pretty hopping on a Friday morning. There were all kinds of food samples, art displays, and fish to look at. He couldn't get over all the art work. His favorite was one with wolves, two wolves. According to Kekoa it was a wolf mama and a wolf baby. Kekoa also loved looking at the whole fish, the halibut was a big hit, and crabs too. Later in the day, we were at a playdate. There was a puzzle there with a fish and crab. Kekoa was so excited and kept telling me, "fish and crab at Costco".

Today we spent a really nice and relaxing morning at the park. We built "snow mountains" out of tanbark and played hide and seek. When I went to look for Kekoa, I said, "Hmmm, where is Kekoa? Where is he hiding?" I hear a sweet little voice say, "Here I am.". He loves being found! :) The walk home was the best. He was so agreeable, following and listening to directions. He loves to balance right now so was walking on the cement ledges, every one he could find. We also saved some worms that were squiggling on the sidewalk. He loved this and was so proud of himself.

I am trying to find that balance right now, of enjoying being in the moment with Kekoa and still being able to plan ahead for our little girl that will be coming very soon.
