First thing in the morning, before we start our day is the best time of the day. Kekoa is a super snuggle monster. He never wants to get out of bed. I asked him yesterday, "do you just want to stay in bed forever Kekoa?". He replied, "yes mama, stay in bed forever." Today he told me he just wanted to have snuggies. I always ask him if he had good dreams and what he dreamed about. Who did he see in dreamland. Lately, he sees elephants, lions, and hippo's...and of course mama and baba. We then figure out what we are going to eat for breakfast. He switches from cereal to waffles.
He is so cuddly, I just love it. He sleeps spooned into me for most of the night, my little heater. He wakes me up with multiple smooches, but only if he's been up for awhile. He is really good about just laying there with us and relaxing. I think it is funny he is not in a hurry to get up and play with his toys. I would love to stay in bed and snuggle even longer, but I know if we cuddle for too long, Kekoa gets super hungry and then the morning isn't so fun anymore.
In the past month, Kekoa will now also give his baba smooches and cuddles in the morning. For the longest time, he just wanted mama in the mornings. I love watching Kekoa crawl over to Scott and plant a big kiss on him and then tell him how much he misses his baba.
Every morning is so cherished now. In a couple of months, we won't have this leisurely snuggle time. Once baby sister comes, I will be up at all hours nursing!
