How is it possible that you gets cuter with each passing day?
Baba and I ask each other this question all the time. You have such an active imagination and it cracks us up. I like to peek in on you when you are playing with your stuffed animals. They all have different personalities and you call them your friends. There is also now an "alligator" that hides in your room sometimes. We have to pull back the blankets to make sure he is out of your room before you go to sleep.
You are a talker, talking from the time you wake up to the time you put yourself to sleep. Your speech is getting more complicated, your sentences longer, and the things you say blow me away. The connections you make amaze me and your memory is unbelievable.
Napping is becoming obsolete...just started this past week. You have protested your nap almost every day, have only slept twice, once on mama and once in the hotel room. We still have you "rest", but you won't fall asleep. This means around 6:30, I need to start getting you ready for bed. You are asleep before 7:30 if I can get you bed early enough. That part is nice, an earlier bedtime, but I still miss the naps. I need to take one in the middle of the day! Funny how I was stressing about whether or not I should cut out your nap and you just decide on your own.
On the subject of sleep, you still wake up once a night, usually around midnight. Now though, you crawl off your bed, open your door, and come to our room on your own...it is so cute to see you waddling in, carrying Paulie bear and di di. You come to my side of the bed right now, I pull you up on the bed and you fall right back asleep. You love to snuggle right in and spoon.
You are definitely much more independent these day. You have been wanting to feed yourself, which is fantastic. A common phrase is, "no mama help" and boy do you get upset if I try. You take off your own jacket and put it in the basket and do the same with your shoes. You also love taking off your own socks before bedtime. You have also mastered climbing the scary, cement stairs up to our apartment, all by yourself...no hand holding anymore to go up.
We love going to the park with you. You are so fun, running around everywhere. You have become super brave and agile, but are still cautious. I like watching you figure out how your going to get down a big step. If it is too big for you, you will still sit down and turn around to go down safely. Your favorite thing now at the park is the slides.
You love the baby zamboni. You and your stuffed animals will kiss the belly and talk to it. It is really cute.
Tantrums do happen, sometimes many in a day, sometimes none...I love the days of no tantrums! They aren't full blown yet, you just get upset, especially during transition times. You are still the sweetest, most loving boy. In addition to bear hugs, you now grab my face randomly and give me repeated kisses on the mouth. I love it, it is the sweetest thing. You are super affectionate and still just love to cuddle. We love you so much Kekoa Kai.
