2011 Christmas tree hunt

I love this time of year so much. It is so wonderful to start our own family holiday traditions. One of my favorite traditions we have is going to pick out our Christmas tree. We headed out into the sunshine this morning. Kekoa was pumped up, so excited to go for a hike and pick out our tree.
We went to the same Christmas tree farm that we have gone to for the past two years. It still amazes me how beautiful and peaceful it is out there and how close it is to where we live.
Kekoa was such a trooper, he snacked the whole time and did such an amazing job trekking up the steep hill. We definitely have ourselves a little hiker. Kekoa's favorite part of the day was "seeing pretty trees".
Scott was the tree scout and found our lovely tree. It looks so gorgeous in our tiny apartment and the fresh pine fragrance is the best.
Now lights and decorations! :)

Yay, Christmas trees, here I come!

A grove of giant, majestic redwoods.

Kekoa was busy snacking most of the time. :)

Can you see Scott? He is camouflaged amongst the trees!

Baba is SO strong! It is a very steep hill to walk back to the car, difficult enough without having to carry a tree!

A little rest stop.

Kekoa copying his baba, carrying his "tree" above his head! so cute.

Yay, we have a tree!

Kekoa helping to screw in the tree stand.

Oh my...a little too tall!
What to do?

A little chop off the bottom and we are in business!
