With all the craziness of our lives right now, packing, getting movers, canceling the movers, changing the PG&E and then changing it back, calling Comcast...you get the picture, we have not had a lot of quality time together as a family. Well, it was a beautiful day outside and instead of spending time in our boxed up apartment, unpacking everything, we decided to get outside and go for a hike before Scott had to go to work. It was an excellent choice. Kekoa was super excited to ride on his baba's back and hit the trails. Of course we had to stop at the creek and throw rocks. Scott impressed us with his rock skipping talents. Kekoa didn't want to leave the creek, but we convinced him there would be other things to explore. We are super proud of our little monkey, he made it to the top of the extremely steep hill. This hill is so steep for Kekoa that I had to keep my hand on his back so he wouldn't fall backwards.
Kekoa's memory amazes me because he recognized where we were, as soon as we got to the top. We have started our hikes here, at the top, before. He started making peacock sounds and looking for it (this is the place where he heard a peacock for the first time ever). He also knew that we were going to be heading back to the car and he didn't like this one bit!
Again, we were able to distract him with finding a kitty for him to pet and then into the backpack he went!
It was really special and wonderful to all spend some time together.
Practice at home before we hit the trails. Kekoa was loving it!

whew, made it to the top. Good thing we are taking a little snack break. I love my pb&j with some cold milk.
