It was another gorgeous day here in Northern California as we headed across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. Oh my goodness...it was such a beautiful day. I was so worried it was going to be freezing cold and had packed all these jackets and knit hats for us!
Kekoa relaxed on the way up and even tried to take a nap. Malia was really good too considering it took us an hour and a half to get there. We all love crossing that Golden Gate, especially on a clear day when you can see the city, all the different boats, and the islands.
The first place we went to was the room with the boat. Kekoa was talking about the boat last night when we decided to go to the museum. He was so excited to be here today, it was really cute and his energy was contagious. It was the first time he was really calling for his sister to come play with him. She was more into the train table, but would periodically check on what her Ge Ge was doing. Kekoa had so much fun playing with her today.
So bummed my head is blocking the view of the bridge, but the kids were not in the mood for pictures. They wanted to get inside to play!

Kekoa was so cute. He ran off the boat, all concerned that he didn't have his life jacket on!
|
Look, I caught a fish!

Captain Kekoa

Look at the dragon.
|
Malia was excited to climb onto this little area herself and find a seat.
|
Lunch time with the best view.
|
The little birds were not scared at all, waiting patiently for a crumb of something.
|
checking out the bird on the trash can

Then off to the water/toddler area. Kekoa was worried he was going to be too tall since his friend Cole is. Nothing to worry about, he gets in at 39 inches (if you are over 42 inches you can't come in)
This was Malia's spot the whole time we were outside in the toddler area. She just liked hanging out here with her hands in the water.
|
Ummm, yes mama?
|
Then we headed inside where the kids had a blast with the stuffed animals, especially Malia. She was an animal horder. Kekoa was all over the place in here, loved the climbing.
Malia doesn't like the mouse stuffed animal at all...
Giving the animals some love.
|
so many animals with not enough hands
|
She is tired but didn't nap until we left.
|
I really enjoyed watching Malia playing here. She figured it all out herself, how to fit the shapes into the proper holes. Once she got it, there was no stopping her, she was giggling and having a ball.
Yup, 39 inches

The kids have never played in this area and loved it. Kekoa found a castle that someone had made and left which he knocked down.
The castle.

The dragon destroying the castle.
For once, Malia was the cooperative one for pictures. Kekoa wasn't so much. I got some great pictures of baby girl.
There is a little tiny loop of a trail that takes you up top. Of course the view is just breathtaking.
It was one of those days when everything just goes really well, no real tantrums, the kids were totally agreeable...it all worked out. I remember the last time we came here and Malia was so much younger and it was just more difficult to manage (I don't think she was walking yet?) It was so much more fun this time. I just wish this place was a little closer...we would go all the time. Thanks my kiddos for a fabulous day, for making it so easy for your mama!
