"can't wait for tomorrow"

Yes, there are a million of other things I should be doing right now, but I wanted to get this down while it was fresh in my mind.

Kekoa is the cutest thing right now.  He has been counting down the days until Thanksgiving since last week...so excited to see his Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Erik (Uncle Eri).  Finally, finally, finally, the day has come.  We have been working hard here, getting ready for visitors and for hosting the big Thanksgiving dinner.  Our little house will be busting out at the seams but it is going to be all good to have everyone together.  Kekoa and I made turkey hands today.  He made a mountain on the drawing, added some grass and a sun and a silly gray moon.  He just loved the turkey faces I made, couldn't get enough of them, which I think is so funny because I always thought my faces were pretty lame-o!

I took Kekoa for a walk in the stroller while baby girl was napping.  The whole way we talked about Thanksgiving and how we could decorate the house.  He remembered in a Curious George book that Curious George was all about making the Thanksgiving decorations...he wanted to copy what that silly monkey did.  We got some ideas, but turned it into our own decorations.  Kekoa went turkey hand crazy and I strung them along.  He wanted to make sure they were up for everyone tomorrow as a surprise.  We had actually forgotten to make the turkey hand banner when we got home from our walk and he came to me in tears, while I was getting Malia ready for bed, so distraught that the surprise wouldn't be ready for everyone tomorrow!

After Malia was asleep, Kekoa and I worked really hard together to get that turkey hand banner finished.  He also showed me exactly where he wanted me to put up the turkey hand illustration we worked on early in the day.  I told him I would put them both up while he was sleeping.  I can't wait for him to see it tomorrow morning.

It just felt so wonderful this evening, doing arts and crafts with my little man....what the holidays are all about.  While we were crafting, he said, "I can't wait for tomorrow"...me either!

working so hard on another portrait of a mountain and a sun

voila..the finished product!

Kekoa came up with the title of the picture and told me what to write on it.  The turkey on the far right is Malia, who didn't want to cooperate at all!

Our turkey hands from last year are on the left.

cutest video ever...truly captured Kekoa's excitment
