It has been over a month now that Scott has been at his new job. It has been quite a life changing experience for all of us. Since Kekoa was born, Scott has gone to work at 2:00 in the afternoon, not to be seen again until the next morning. He has worked every other weekend, which let me tell you, sucks super bad.
He is now working at a surgery center and has normal hours and every weekend and holiday off! If he goes in early, he is home by 3:30...which is just awesome. I can't tell you how nice it is to have him at home in the evenings after almost 4 years of putting kiddos to bed by myself. It is wonderful to have him home to eat dinner with us and play with the kids before dinner.
The first couple of weeks were the toughest adjustment...especially for Kekoa. He was acting out so much, every morning there was a major meltdown. He really missed his Baba, so used to having him home in the mornings to play with him. And this is a boy who is such a stickler for his schedule, so it really rocked his world to have it changed so dramatically. Now he knows that Baba will be coming home, just at different time. Scott and Kekoa now have their own little bedtime routine, which is just awesome. I give Malia a bath and they go and rinse off in the shower. Kekoa loves it, which is such a relief because it was like pulling teeth to get him into the bath. All of a sudden, one day, he decided he didn't want to take baths anymore and it was seriously the biggest ordeal to get him clean at night...lots of tears, kicking, screaming..so this shower thing is great.
We LOVE having you home at night honey. It has completely changed our lives for the better.
