What a splendid mother's day it was. I didn't think it was going to be a great day since Malia was up at 4:45 this morning! Yikes. I nursed her and put her back to sleep, crossing my fingers that she would fall back asleep. She cried for a bit, then fell asleep until around 7:15!! She hasn't done that in SO long.
So, I was able to sleep a bit longer and woke up to snuggles in bed with my two kiddos, beautiful tulips in the kitchen, and a card that Kekoa couldn't wait to give me. It said I was a super mom.
After having a yummy french toast breakfast, Kekoa and I went for a walk while Malia napped and Scott cleaned up. We stopped to throw rocks in the quarry and to smell the roses at the rose garden. Kekoa was too cute in his rain boots but decided he needed to change into his sneakers after trying to walk in the boots.
My mom came over this afternoon for lunch. Scott grilled chicken and turkey burgers. It was a wonderful afternoon, so warm outside and relaxing.
When I was putting Kekoa to sleep this evening, he asked me, "Mama, did you have a good mother's day?" Yes I did, a fabulous mother's day. Thank you Scott for making it so special.
