Scott and I had the best date today. We dropped the kids off at Po Po's house (they were both super excited about it) and then went for a hike. My mom lives right by the staging area for Mission Peak and it is one of our favorite hikes ever. I have been going up there since I was 5 years old! It is no longer a secret hike, the trail was so packed...that was a little disheartening, but I enjoyed spending some quality time with my wonderful hubbie. We powered through and made it all the way to the top. This is not a wimpy, easy hike and it felt really good to make it. The weather was gorgeous, just so beautiful and clear. It can be super chilly at the top, but today it was perfect.
My favorite part of the hike was coming down the side of the peak. We avoided the crowds this way and it is an awesome feeling to be on a tiny little trail so high above the ground. This is the best time of year to hike the hills in the East Bay. They are emerald green and it isn't so hot yet. We can't wait for our next date together! Love you honey. xoxo
