There were also zebras, ostrich and other really cool animals roaming around. It was nice to see that these animals weren't in a small enclosure. Kekoa was in complete awe of seeing all the animals.
On our way to the African plains...
Hmmm, where to next?
The best animals were the gorillas. There is a baby gorilla that is 2 years old, Hasani. He is the cutest thing, even threw temper tantrums like another little almost 2 year old I know! :)
Hasani was having the best time playing with his mama. He would try and wrestle with her. She would then pound her chest in excitement, which would make him want to play even more. The big daddy Gorilla just sat back and observed. It was like he could look into your soul when you made eye contact with him.
I could of sat and watched the gorillas all day. There were all these signs around, telling us to keep our voices down. Kekoa doesn't understand this and screams on the top of his lungs, "Hi baby" and "bye baby". It was really cute.
"Hi baby"
Kekoa says it so quietly here. Good job Kekoa!
Lunch break for us with a view of the flamingos.
The real hippo...
The bronze hippo...
Memories from the past...the old dilapidated buildings.
A big, rolly Grizzly Bear
Kekoa loved this mural. He ran right over to it to pose for the camera.
There were so many beautiful peacocks roaming around. Kekoa loves peacocks and was excited to see so many.
What sound does a peacock make Kekoa?
Kekoa's favorite part of the zoo was the little steam train, of course. This train went so fast. Once he saw it racing around, he didn't want to see any other animals, just wanted to "ride choo choo steamy". Oh, my little man and his trains!
We all had such a fantastic time together.
All aboard!
Kekoa clasps his hands in excitement.
Waiting so patiently for the choo choo to come around again.
Where is that darn train?
Here it comes...Kekoa starts waving like crazy. All the people on the train can't help but smile and laugh at our little monkey, waving with such gusto and such a big smile on his face!
You can hear Scott yelling, "Hey watch out". The boy that runs past Kekoa almost gets hit by the train. He ran right up to it...scary.
We loved taking these funny pictures...
