Belgatos Park

Today Kekoa went exploring to a new park, Belgatos park. This park has been on my list to check out all summer and I squeezed it in before summer is over! ( Can't believe summer is over) It is a great park and I can't believe we have never been before. It is surrounded by beautiful oak trees and trails.
It was a little bit of a struggle to get my little monkey out of the apartment. He kept telling me "no mama, play tacks" or "no mama, color". But when I told him we were going to explore a new park, go for a hike and maybe find peacocks and possibly gorillas...he was all for it.
Once we get there, Kekoa is so happy to be outside. He loved this park so much. I asked him if he wanted to go for a hike first or play at the park. He told me "park mama". So, park it was. We didn't play long when Kekoa wanted to go in the "tree tunnel" and find the water. The "tree tunnel" was actually the start of the trail, so we hiked about 5 minutes along it, found a small bridge, sat on the bridge to have a snack as we watched the tiny creek below. Kekoa was content with that and anxious to get back to the park.
He has rediscovered park equipment. For the longest time, whenever we went to parks, Kekoa wanted to walk around and explore more than he wanted to play on the equipment. Now he is just loving climbing on everything and going down the slides. The little baby slide was too hot so Kekoa, feeling so brave, ventured to the "big" slide. He climbed up, sat at the top, slid his Gordon the train down, and then without any hesitation whatsoever, Kekoa slid down after Gordon. It was hilarious to see his face, he was a little apprehensive the first time down, but then said "again." He went down the slide so many times, it was the cutest thing. He was all smiles after the first run, so brave. Gordon shooting down the slide first and then launching off the bottom, was the funniest thing to Kekoa, he just loved it.

I swear Kekoa is getting cuter and cuter by the minute. He is hilarious, says the funniest things and has so much personality. He wouldn't take off his Thomas hat and kept pulling it lower so it was just right about his eyes. When I tried to adjust it, he would pull it back down and say "like this".
His favorite part of the afternoon was the park and watching Gordon go down the slide. He couldn't stop talking about it.
Going to a new park was just what we both needed, it was so much fun.

Gordon is launching off the slide...

Here I come mama!

I'm going to go again!

SO much fun!

What's up mama?

Where are we going Kekoa?

Whenever I ask Kekoa this question he says, "to the beach mama". All right Kekoa, let's go!

One final smiley shot.

Where we going mama?

No, not to the car...this way!
