| Flowers and champagne from my friend Julie. She is so sweet and dropped it off at the house today!! And my yummy bday cake. |
Yes, today is my birthday, it is a big one. From here on out, I am turning 35 (not sure why the cake says 40?? talk about a major typo) It is a little strange that now I am actually younger than Scott!
I can't complain, it was a fabulous day. The kids were so great this morning. Malia gave me the best present ever...sleeping in to past 8:00! Kekoa was super pleasant too, no whining, which is always a big bonus.
After all getting ready, we headed to San Francisco, to the Academy of Sciences. Who could ask for a better birthday? I was able to go to the rainforest, to the coral reefs, walk through the core of the Earth, to Madagascar, and to mainland Africa to see the penguins! Pretty awesome. We ended the day with the best view from the De Young Museum. I swear that view is good for your soul, especially on a bright, sunny day like today. Thank you to Uncle Erik for a such a fun day in the city!!
After the long drive home, Scott had dinner ready...a yummy dinner of grilled steaks, salad, and some avocado toast with delicious green onion slab bread (this stuff is amazing and I can't wait to have some for lunch tomorrow). He surprised me with my favorite banana cake from Icing on the Cake, only the best bakery ever. Thank you honey for making my day so special.
On top of all this fabulousness, I felt so loved, received many emails, text messages, and phone calls from friends and family. I'm thinking this is going to be a great year (knock on wood). We are heading to the beach this weekend for a couple of nights...can't wait for that!!
