I can't believe how much Kekoa has grown and matured in a few short weeks. Just one week of summer camp has done wonders for him. Today I was watching him in complete awe, he is becoming his own person and needing me less, which is a great thing.
We had a class through Birdwatchers in Los Gatos. We arrived a little late, which usually spells disaster for Kekoa. He was a little hesitant at first and then just dove in. The class was at Belgatos park, which helped since he is so familiar with it and a couple of his friends were there from summer camp. It was the first time he wasn't clinging to me the whole time, I couldn't believe it. We all went on a short hike and Kekoa was running ahead, climbing up the hills, just so confident on his own. It was pretty awesome. He would look around and make sure I was coming, but wasn't stuck to my side the whole time.
I am really proud of him.
