Today was the day, the first day that Kekoa dressed himself, from head to toe!! It took a week of summer camp and feeling a little embarrassed that he couldn't change himself into his bathing suit. Scott is such a great father, I mean really. He figured out that Kekoa was embarrassed because he was the only one of his friends, from summer camp, that didn't know how to change their clothes by themselves. So, Scott really encouraged him and told Kekoa that we could help him, but that he really needed to start practicing himself. That is all it took, one day of Scott telling him this.
This morning, after breakfast, Kekoa disappeared. I wasn't even looking for him, but went back into our room to put something away and saw Kekoa in his room, sitting on the floor, no pj's on and his clothes set out. I didn't want to make a huge deal out of it (Kekoa doesn't like attention drawn to him at all), asked him if he needed some privacy (he said yes) and just told him to holler for me if he needed some help. He did put his shirt on, but the sleeve was all twisted, so I helped him untwist it and he did all the rest, came out of his room all dressed!! SO proud of you monkey! I really never thought this day would come!
