gingerbread house

Today we had a visit from Auntie Coley...it has been way too long since we had seen her, especially Kekoa.  She is expecting a little girl, Hanalei, January 21, and we can't wait to meet her!

It was so nice to see Nicole and she really is the best Auntie and will be the best mommy.  She and Kekoa worked on the gingerbread house while I fed Malia.  Kekoa has been so excited about this gingerbread house, ever since I brought it home from Trader Joe's (a couple of weeks ago).  I must say, he has been waiting patiently to make it.  He wanted it to look just like the picture on the box, which is how I would want it to look too.  I like having a visual to guide me and so does my son.  This explains why art isn't his favorite activity at school, there is never a visual to look at or copy.

Anyways, Kekoa did such a great job putting the candies on and then had the most fun squeezing the frosting out.  He actually liked getting it all over his hands.  Such a different boy than last year when we did the gingerbread house.  He was interested for about 5 seconds and was then off an playing.  This year he was all about decorating.

Thank you for coming to visit Auntie Coley!  We can't wait to see you again soon.

Hmmmm, which color to pick.

Love this picture, Kekoa concentrating so hard on squeezing out the icing.

The completed gingerbread house!

Kekoa iced the back...it is an avalanche of icing.

Kekoa's super fake smile face. (Notice today Kekoa is wearing his other Buzz Lightyear shirt, he is on a two shirt rotation. :)  )
